EA has a ton of modelers, programmers, designers.. all sorts if people hired to do this and that, with no further instructions. It's a game factory that already has plans for their next game (which will be about the same but with more cars/weapons and features) before the current has been released.
The so called physics are as good as pre-programmed so it's sort of realistic (feels realistic for a guy with an xbox controller). The engine sounds are a bunch of samples recorded from an engine at certain rpm's, and ingame it often sounds horrible at certain rpm's.
The LFS team consists of 3 developers, Victor, Eric and Scawen. Those 3 are doing all the job from designing, modeling and programming and so far. They need to plan and prioritize features they want into it. Together they have a goal: Making a really good (maybe the best) racing simulator.
I think the tire physics is among the most important thing in a good racing simulator, which is why they have been working on that for the past years. And the engine sound is made in real time. Each time a cylinder fires the "pop" sound is played and ran trough a bunch if synthesizers with different parameters giving the final sound.
Oh of course. In this forum, no matter how good your arguments are you're not allowed to tell them if you're a Demo user.
You guys thinking that lfs works on s3? Hmm you guys think wrong they doesn't lfs is lie, in 2008 says the vw coming to lfs but its now 2013 and still nothing changed! FireMonkeys says that Real Racing 3 coming end Feb. So lfs you will never see me aigan bb, lfs please work on s3 or you will lost players!!!!
i am impressed that i am still visiting LFSforum.net every single day in hope that one day will come like a big holy Thread with S3 and much more Content.
5 Years have passed now, exciting how fast the time goes by.
I understand that they wont teasing any Content before its completely done, but after 5 Years ... rethink your further strategies pls. Only 1k people left who actually drive some rounds in LFS
I think you never ever played Need For Speed World (online and in theory and half in reality free game)
In game which i just mentioned they are same slow or even worse than LFS devs, their latest patch contained game fixes which didn't fixed those things and made game code less stable so game was crashing after every 10min's.
But atleast they have just greatest patching method ever made by human:
start positions sucks, every second player uses ultra giga speed hack and EA didnt realised how to make things better but they way to fix it is to make another new cars which is shit and you have to pay umm... 5-7$ for just own this one car and you never know how good car is if you dont buy it.
And when you buy it then you realise this car is same fast or even slower than your best tuned "free" car and you have 5-7$ less in pocket spend on useless car in week but well commercialised game.
Scirocco? If the devs really want to attract female racers, you'd think they'd go for the Beetle instead.
And if they really want to make this car for the game, they ought to make a counter for it with the Porsche Boxer. Or that Fiat with the little scorpion on it. Once female racers get a license and realize they can get cars like shoes, they'll want more variety.
Yeah, the only reason I'd really care about them making a VW is that maybe some of you'll finally be able to get girlfriends.
....Wanting a VW. Oh well, I guess it could be worse. It could be a Camry.
Who knows? Anyways I felt I have to reply not just to him, but to other people comparing LFS to a multimillion dollar company like EA.
Unlikely that they're trying to attract female racers. I doubt a kitchen would do good on a racetrack.
I don't see anything new in Scirocco, except that it's the first registered road car. It's not like a very good car. The variant with the biggest engine (R/2.0) has a little more power than FXO, but it weighs more. It will probably catch the FXO in the straightways, but I'm sure it will struggle even more in the corners than FXO.
