Event Specifiics
Qualifying: You are allowed to rejoin after using Shift+P/Shift+S. Drafting is permitted, bumpdrafting is NOT. No Pro Car may be in server during the Am, session and vice versa.
Race:
1. Alerting the Administration: Use @sc to alert administration to look at your car or the section of track you were in when you use the @sc command.
2. Start and Safety Cars: Safety Car will lead the field through 1 formation lap. It will lead the field all the way to the pit entry. After Turns 17 & 18, the field needs to form into double file, the leader maintaining pitlane speed (with a 10 kph / 6 mph variance allowed). This speed MUST be maintained from that point until the GREEN FLAG.
On Restarts, the Safety Car will pull away from the field after Turn 11. It may not be overtaken before it crosses the 1st Safety Car line.
3. Communications: Each team must have a team representative in our IRC channel, #ndr at irc.gamesurge.net for the duration of the race. Failure to have a representative in IRC when contact is needed will result in the penalty prescribed by the rules. We will also be available in the NDR TeamSpeak server: teamspeak.newdimensionracing.com
ALTERNATE METHOD: If you cannot have an IRC representative, or if you wish to listen to race control audio anyway, that will be available as an audio-only stream (with a 10 or so second delay) at http://74.215.251.46:8000/listen.m3u - User: LFSNDR Pass: ndrracectrlaudio
4. Driver Naming: Be sure to be in your proper name format (Number blue for Pro; Green for Am, space, then First initial last name [eg. 00 J. Palmer]. The name must be in WHITE.
5. Tracker: Tracker will be available and running on http://tracker.newdimensionracing.com. Please point out any errors you note to us during the race.
6. New Race Control App: Since Round 1, we have developed a new Race Director app. It is largely the same, with the exceptions of separate tracking of Pit ENTRY and Pit EXIT, our administrative notifications indicate location on track of a yellow, @sc alert, and we can display a Race Control Messages as a BUTTON, using a special function. It is designed to not block any gauge view or view of your car, it should generally appear just below the literal middle of the screen. We have not seen any problems with it yet in testing or its use.
7. Course Shortcutting: The standard points of controversy for shortcutting the course are Turns 1 & 2, The Boothy Chicane, and Turns 17 & 18.
For Turns 1 & 2: There is a sleeping policeman on the apex of turn 2 to disturb use of the commonly called "scipy line". Administration reserve the right to spot check this corner and penalise if necessary for shortcutting at all. Overtaking using this line is protestable and penalisable.
The Boothy Chicane: You may knock down the orange post as you wish. We are logging tyre hits on the outer two tyres via insim, and will use that to help assess any penalties.
Turns 17 & 18: You may take any standard allowed cut over this area. As long as you keep two tyres on the racing surface at all times, you should be clean.
8. Percentage Limits: Remember that you must complete 75% of the race distance to score points. Also remember, for this round, the most a single driver may complete is 45% of the race. The race could possibly be as long as 647 laps if there are no Safety Cars. Remember we do reserve the right to park a team where there is no evidence of a driver coming to replace a driver who has committed an irreversible 45% violation.
9. Miscellany: Do NOT under any circumstances Shift+P or Shift+S during the race without authorization from Race Control.
After finishing the race, please slow below racing speeds after turns 1 & 2 and proceed around into pit lane. Select any open garage stall and pull in. The top 3 in each class shall report back to Start / Finish Line for podium pose.
Please post any procedural questions in this thread.
Good luck!
Get plenty of rest before the race begins, and stay well throughout for those who elect to stay up all 24 hours!
