LOL Clarkson on lfs, now that's a wreckers target if ever I saw one.... People will come into servers and say "Hey it's that blumbering idiot off the telly, lets smash his ass!" Not literally, that's called bum sex children and it's usually frowned upon by many people...
You say that as if you have not faith in the quality of the game. Don't be so negative. When something is genuinely good, they're usually pretty fair about it. So what if they make some wisecracks about the game? I doubt they'd trash it completely. Better than no publicity at all. What truly needs to happen, as been said many times before already, is a copy of the Top Gear track in LFS. Maybe then The Stig can take the RAC around the track in the game and in real life and compare.
lol then one for jeremy: driver may make excessive Vroom sounds
(is that right? jeremy makes some sound, but i cant remember what it is anymore, haven't watched the show in a while)
omg that would be awesome
i bet in the end they would start wrecking each other lol
We don't have many cars do we? Yeah Lotus, TVR, maybe even Radical. But aren't most of them now owned by someone non-british?
Bentley aren't classed a car manufacter, just because their name should be the name of 1930's gentlemans tobacco... Oh and all these "rap stars" own them.
TVR is English designed and manufactured, the only large company to be in this country. OK so the MD is now Russian, but if you count that against them it's like saying the factory workers have to all be English as well.
Lotus is owned by someone else.
There are lots of other English car companies, but they're all very small and specialist, Westfield, Radical, Dax, etc.
Top Gear? .... nobody watches that stuff... you take all the people posing in this forum and add maybe two more ppl and you got Top Gear's viewing Audience.
No if you want media exposure to LFS, then try to get with one of the Writers for like CSI and maybe push for an episode where the one of main characters
is playing it... But a car show?
For example, slot car racing got a slight push in the early 90's... why?
Cause they showed a track in a restaurant that Uma Thurman and John Travolta went to in Pulp Fiction... If you don't know, that wasn't a car movie.
Top Gear...LOL When I first heard of it, I thought it was that stupid Tom Cruise movie..... When I saw it, I wished it was.
I dunno. I guess it's better than that one lamer show where a bunch of idiots fight amongst themselves while building a motorcycle.
5th gear is even worse - they insist on believing that have a group of grannies stand next to their favourite supermini somehow qualifies as a decent result. Then they'll take a clapped out car and do a test badly to show how crashes occur. The fat bloke who clearly is a fool shouldn't be allowed on television. The only saving grace is VBH.
Top Gear doesn't try to be an informative car show, because that's crap. What it tries to do is provide entertainment with cars. JC says things that are contoversial on purpose, and there is a fantastic comedic trio with the presenters who bounce off each other very well. Don't watch it to learn about cars - the few 'technical snippets' they do have on their are always overly simplified or plain wrong - but do watch it if you like to laugh with/at cars.
People who dislike Top Gear tend to have missed the point.
People who prefer 5th gear tend to have been stabbed by the same point in the head.
Well nobody watches the Superbowl in Estonia. Just because people from your town or country dont watch a particular show doesn´t mean others dont watch it aswell.
Top gear is good at what it does, an hour of ENTERTAINMENT, nothing more nothing less, ok, so its dressed up as a motoring show, but it really isnt.
If you want a proper motoring show, try Best Motoring, only problem with that is its a little dry, sometimes hard to understand, and sometimes has drifting or too-gay, other than that its top.
