Ixion news flash as we enter 2013
WTBOS season finale
As we moved into the last round of World TBO Championship Series we were faced with enormous challenge. Both Zeus and Ixion had a lot of ground to make. Joe was in the lead of the championship and it didn't help when he took 3rd pole position to equal Zeus' tally. However, Zeus dispatched of Stankus quickly and took 2nd place daringly from Isaac to take a race long charge at Joe.
After Isaac retired from the race, we were in great position to take a huge points grab on ineX, however Zeus never had a chance to make a move on Joe and so after a race long cat and mouse game on short straights of Aston Cadet, Zeus finished 2nd to add 2nd in drivers championship to 2nd from City Liga and OLFSL title in his 2012 season.
Our new member Ramla took impressive 3rd in his first race, Sma raced up to 5th and Franky to 8th, yet we missed on team's title by just one point to ineX.
Even-though this results are perhaps not the way we wanted them to be, we're delighted to have been a part of this great championship and this way we thank organization for great work.
GT1 World Series - Potential through deep mist
With just 14 points in two races, we decided it was the best to scramble FZR and take on the new challenge in form of XRR to take the most out of the rest of the season. Round one was ruined by numerous incidents and round two ended up after only three corners when we were innocently cough up in trouble. Zeus qualified us on 2nd row of the grid, but we started only 15th due to little doubts in the team will we be doing this race and too late confirmation. The start went horribly wrong when a lag touch with n\ threw us at the very last position. Nevertheless, as you might have seen on the broadcast it was when we started our road to recovery.
We clawed our way up thru the grid swiftly and cleanly, position by position to return back up to 4th position somewhere at mid point of a 1000km race. Sma held the step with ineX, GenR and Vires, but internet disconnect put a lap down, right back in 15th again. Once again, Zeus regained some ground for ixion to cross the checkered in 9th.
We're pleased to see that we can hold the step with GenR and Vires in speed and race-craft as it showed couple of times in this race. Still, we know it takes time to iron the mishaps out and that is exactly what we're looking forward to as the season continues.
Sadly, that was last ixion race for Sma as he has left the team. Good luck little buddy.
