Ok so i made a H shifter from a joystick and it functions very well. the only thing is that i used xpadder to program it to function. so basically the joystick enters a key when in gear.

I typed the eqyxzr with the joystick.
If i just put it in gear while not in the game, it doesnt do anything. (no error noise)
when i put it in gear in any part of the game (menus options driving) it makes a clicking noise (from the speakers). kinda like an error tone that something is on the keyboard.
ive looked everywhere to solve this. Please help.
if you want to know what it sounds like, go into the game, start a race and press and hold down for example E. how do i get rid of that sound?
