Actually the mazda felt quite nice in Iracing. Did not do much oval but was close and fun races there.
The slower cars feel ok IMO, but maybe it feels worse on the faster cars?
Obviously not because even Scawen has mostly fixed his barrier bugs. iRacing's are just terrible. I've gotten stuck inside a wall more times than a chronic masturbator visits a porn site.
Never subscribing again. Worse physics than the last time I tried it, and I don't have enough gold bullions to buy more content or pay for subscription.
They're still fixed. Think about how many people spend as much (or more) than I have on iRacing.. yet they get simple collision physics wrong (never mind their other physics faults like tyre physics).
After 7 years my good old G25 shifter has finally died, and it picked a good time to do it. Got back into racing the HPD the last while, out of 12 races this week at Daytona I've won 9, finished 2nd twice and finished stone dead last in the last race of the week. Shifter started acting up in the 2nd lap, buttons started to hit, pit limiter, mute, black boxes flicking until it finally hit the ignition button and I was out. Hit my fastest lap time of the week also while a lap down after towing (and ripping out the shifter cable) and managed to unlap myself on the very last corner of the race, so it was still fun.
G25 pedals are still going strong though, still used every day after 7 years just with regular cleaning, and the wheel still works perfectly, though it has been in a cupboard for a couple of years. I bet my Fanatec GT3 won't be working in 7 years.
So, what's the best shifter? Thrustmaster TH8 or wait for the new Fanatec? I will really miss the buttons on the G25 shifter though, so used to them. So far I've found out that on the US Logitech site you can buy replacement shifters on their own, have sent a message to Logitech UK, they're usually really good.
Personally I've pretty much totally given up with iracing and after my sub runs out I'll never give them 1 cent more. After 5 years they are still not offering the most basic kind of wheel support. How they are still claiming to be a sim while forcing you to deal with steering unlinearity and speed sensitiveness you can not turn off is just plain ignorant and stupid beyond redonkulous at this point.
Even consoles offer incredibly better support in this regard and if assetto corsa is even nearly as good it looks now when it is released I'll get some 1k€ equipment and totally forget I've spend some comparable sums into this halfassed piece of disappoitment...
