Anyhow, I pretty much voted for "Don't care" because if you give one person a license, everyone is going to scream "unfair" or "he doesnt deserve it" as been said pretty much in this thread (causing un-needed drama).
See if you'd started off talking about starting a competition for demo racers to earn a license, instead of asking everyone to buy a license for a random person, this thread would have been alot nicer.
Even when I was young lad(!) I did a weekend paper round and earned less than a fiver per weekend. I would have had to wait at least six weekends to get anywhere near S2. Those days I bought NFS though....
I can somewhat see where you're going with that, but you can not deny the fact that no matter what gets chosen, it is going to be hard to prove to ever single person (because you asked for people to help pay for the license) that he/she deserves it.
That's a good point but again, this is just an idea and as much as i would like it to go ahead - people have different standards so i get where your coming from.
Why do you want a high number of posts? Tristan has a high number of posts because he's usually got something interesting or relevant to say, whereas you just post shit all day long. You might be happy with a high post count, but it would make the rest of us miserable.
Never heard of the guy. But there are a few demo racers who've really contributed to LFS who would be worthy of S2 license "donations". Off the top of my head, I think Electrik Kar is deserving. He's done more than "show interest". He's actually taken his free time and given something back to the community.
Afaik faster111 hasn't done anything but torment us with his spelling and grammar mistakes. I'm not part of the gramma police and don't except impeccable use of grammar and spelling. And I do understand if you're dyslexic or if you have english as 2nd or Nth language and the occasional typo. But ffs proofread your post even once or make even some effort.
Speaking of demo users who really deserve a license, I propose MonkOnHotTinRoof - the maker of LFS Lapper mod.
All typos and mistakes in the
post are intentional ;-)
The intentions of this thread were good... they just kinda got derailed by the insulting and negativeness.
I don't see the problem with just being nice and giving someone a license for no other reason than it's a nice thing to do. I don't see a problem in having some sort of competition where people can win a license. I only had a problem with people insulting faster 111 and casting a negative image on what started out as a positive thing.
If people want to help buy him one... that's fine. If they don't that's fine too. It's also fine if he and others are given chances to earn them. If you disagree with me then 'that's fine too'. I just don't see the need to keep making digs at eachother over something like this.
If you don't like how he writes or what he says... then you'll be in the group not opening up wallets. What's the problem?
I don't see him making posts and i didn't even know that he created it... It's not what you do - its how you do it - monkeyonhottinroof may have made that but i've never heard of him whereas faster has inputted and wanted to know things and get involved but he still hasn't literally contributed anything...
