I am getting minecraft today and I can't think of what to build.
I might build a replica of Edinburgh but that would be very time consuming.
if anyone has any ideas please post

Build a structure with the following properties:
- There must be an above-ground section
- There must be a below-ground section
- Walls may not be constructed of cobblestone
- A jump from the highest spot to the lowest spot must be fatal
- There must be lava
- There must be at least one section with hostile creatures

- There must be an in-structure transportation system

Make a mob-grinder which will spawn both good and evil mobs (so needs both lit and dark areas), which has two options, selected by a switch -

1. Mobs are then killed by whatever means you want and the drops carried to one spot for you to pick up.

2. Mobs are carried, alive, to a holding area where you can then kill them en-masse with whatever means you want, for you to pick up the xp orbs.

TBH the first thing you'll build is a small room with a hole in the ground where you go to find resources. And for a while what you'll build is slightly nicer versions of that. It'll be a long time before you start thinking of grand plans.

Unless you're playing 'creative mode', which turns Minecraft into a very basic graphics program. Like Paint. But more basic.

Try to build yourself a refund for that worthless game.

Are you doing a legit build (that is you mind all resources yourself) or creative pansy mode?

The kudos you get for your build depends which option you go for. I hope you're a man and do it legit.
