I'm in absolute disbelief about this accident. It didn't look that bad. And I think drivers door is even on the opposite side of the impact. RIP.

Nah it didnt. I guess we just got used to drivers getting away from that and worse sort of accidents.

Already starting worrying when I saw how long they were working away on the car. I didn't realise the impact was that massive. RIP

Didn't look bad, but there was definitely some massive deceleration when he hit the wall. RIP.

He hit the wall basically flat on the side at high speed, and the roof line was really badly bent. It looked bad.

Not to mention that there was a tree with a chunk taken out of it.

It's easy to know in hindsight. Of course it looked bad, just not THAT bad. Pointless argument. He was very successful and it just reminds us how very badly things can go. I hope his family can recover from this. Very sad thing to witness.

Horrible. I'm one of those who say it didn't look _that_ bad, but remember Dale Earnhardt's crash, that didn't look half as bad and we all know how it ended. I've seen much worse crashes in NASCAR yet people got out without a scratch. Unlucky situation. :tombstone
