windows 8.1 - unlock requierd at each start
Hi!

I recently installed windows 8.1. Now everytime i restart windows i need to unlock LFS again. So i have no unlocks left for the week. Does anyone have any ideas?
have you made sure your windows account has full write rights to the \data subfolder of your lfs directory?
more specifically i think its the \data\misc folder that unlock info is written to

If LFS is installed inside Program Files, move it anywhere.

Run LFS as admin, unlock it, exit and reboot your computer (mainly in case you use hibernation). Then you can/(should be able) run it normally without it locking itself.

then why would you start about it
Quote from bogdani.cojocaru :Bose pls. Point is there's no point for Windows 8. Let's not go offtopic. There are specific threads for windows and crap like this.

Okay, your personal opinion about Windows 8 does not help the OP. You don't like Windows 8. Other people like it.
Not in the mood to do this. I deleted my posts. Hope everyone is ****ing happy now.

/Great help

Well, In my opinion Win 8 is showing how wonderful Vista was. But thats just my opinion.

Here's a helpful response to the question !

Don't install LFS in the /program Files or /X86 Program Files folders.

Clearly Win 8 has even more issues with this than earlier versions of Windows.

Put it either in the root directory ( C:/LFS ) or on the desktop, then you shouldn't have a problem.
Doesn't just editing the permissions of the LFS directory tree work?
Yes, and no......
Windows puts certain restrictions on some folders and LFS has had issues with other windows versions if it's installed in the /programs or /x86programs folders. Even if you edit the permissions on the LFS folder, the permissions on the /programs folder can override your changes.

TL/DR, it's simpler and easier to put it somewhere else.
