New Kyoto config
Has anyone ever thought of this? I think it would be a challenging config!

would be a bit on the long side, wouldnt mind a few new track layouts though, challenging
This is what I thought Eric was planning on doing with Kyoto... or doing right now I presume. I am not sure though, maybe it would go straight there instead of being a kink like that. Either way, I REALLY want this long version!!
WOW!

This track will be named GP NATIONAL, lol I don´t know, but it isn´t too long?

mmm it seems that will be enterteining
#5 - Jakg
well we already have a national, and long is taken so... loop? dual? twin?
Any config that takes me through that ruddy chicane is to be avoided! For my own benefit, as well as others on the track...
Which chicane?
i like the psuedo-daytona 24 hours configureation you can see in you pic..
most of the oval with the infield loop with 2 hairpins thrown in- that would be a fun high speed layout..
i also had the same idea a while ago

I searched, I really did!

lies!!

burn him!! :flamed: :bananadea
nah, no search probably would have found it my suggestion was hiding in a thread about aston configs. hehe.
Uber-track = me like
I have said this before but that config would suck because the tight hairpin which would be unreal because you would be doing 320km/h in to it, an there would be a concrete wall against you with no run-off area. Hyperactive made a better one I think.
We got enough time to realize every idea here in this thread

But i wouldn't say that KY is unpopular, like Deggis said. It's just that Aston and Blackwood are simpler and so easier for everyone.
Quote from deggis :Kyoto GP is already too long (because it's very unpopular). What we really need is a shorter config for GP: http://torttu.net/temp/lfs/kyoto_new_config.jpg

To a point Kyoto isn't used much, but it is mostly because it isn't all that exciting. Are there many places to brake hard and slow down on that track? Not really.

Your small/short config is a good idea and all, but again, think about the lack of slow spots and passing opportunities. That has hardly any, and would be quite boring just driving at the limit no matter what car you use. Because that snakey s-curve area is mostly always flat out and never really much fun after countless laps in a race. I still wouldn't mind seeing SOME kind of short track for Kyoto anyways, it really needs it. This long version would be quite popular I think... especially for endurance races. The only part that I think would need careful planning is where GP meets the Oval and combines with National. That kink people draw out should just be a straightaway so you drive perpendicular to the oval straight.
eh, i'd love that kink!! it would be an incredibly technical piece of road to master
