Bump textures in LFS?
There is a part of the track loading process called "Bump textures". But I haven't seen any textures that would use bump mapping in LFS. Or does the line mean something else? Or what is it? Just curious
I know in aston there is a file called roadbump
DX8.1 have bump mapping support for textures?
This may be related to the track geometry itself. Something like an invisible heightmap overlayed on the low-poly base model for the track surface.

If so, it's a nice way to keep the track surface realistic feeling, while keeping the visual aspects FPS friendly.

You're probably right, I forgot about these invisible "textures"
From my understanding of the SMX and PTH files, there are 65536 units in 1 game meter, that's a pretty good level of fidelity already. That is millimeter precision in the game.
