(FM) Air-race! =)
We (FM) planning a special kind of race.

There will be a basic flightplan, where you can see which airports you will have to visit. We are runnin our own server for the events.

Winner will be the one that reaches the destination airport in time.

The favoured flight simulator around here seems to be FS 9 (2004), so we will stick to this one.

Check out www.fragmaster.net - Forum for details.

i wanna get some smaller plane

i say we race a piper cub :P
(for those that dont know, this would be hte UF1k of the air)

i got FS9 on my computer, and played it not to long ago, got my wingman force and all ready whenever
hmmm i havent got fs9 ... besides why did you choose the rf of flightsims when theres a perfectly good lfs counterpart with x plane ?
cause alot of people have FS2004; the server also allows FS2002

how is it so bad? people (like my dad) use it all the time to plan out trips and whatever.. its not like its "fake"
x plane just has something fs doesnt ... not sure what it is but i guess not being limited to 80k feet is a large part of it
but it doesnt have all the maps and well.. it doesnt have jeppesen, and thats what makes up FS; because all pilots use jeppesen maps

to me, xplane is more of a .. lets go fly a rocket around kinda like.. NFS of racing games, its just one of those lets have fun kinda deals, while FS is more of like a lets get serious about flying
I'm pretty sure FS is to Xplane, in terms of realistic physics, as NFS is to LFS.
Flight Simulator is still fun, you gotta hand it that... and I personally do enjoy it myself. I don't have it, but my friend who has the whole crazy joystick setup (I dont have one) lets me play it sometimes.

Xplane is however pretty darn good. But I don't know how it is for multiplayer. I'd much rather have fun with very fast fighter jets in LockOn, the multiplayer in that is quite good so I hear....., and the squadrons some people have for LockOn are INSANE, I am talking precision aerobatics and stunts. Wish I could find the vid... but here is some other one:

Fun huh?

Any idea what that sound at 7'33"-38" is? On the second vid.. sounds like someone's snorting their mic.

Do you know if lomac has F14s yet?

I believe the two planes had hit each other slightly and the plane was damaged. Because I think that is the warning sound that is alerting you in the cockpit. And another one sounds like breathing, I think there are G force sounds from the pilot. Not sure though.

If I am wrong though, it sounds like he has gas
He needs a plumber if it is..
hey... they even got fat albert to get smoke off that take off.. to bad no rockets like the real thing, thats a sight to see..
(for those that dont know, fat albert is the blue angel's hercules that has supplies and whatnot in it)

that diamond formation right after takeoff is.. just perfect, i would love to see how much these guys talk over teamspeak to get this all working

and they obviously know what they are doing, my dad flew with someone who can fly formation; something alot of guys down at spruce creek in florida do every saturday morning, and all you do is watch the person's wing you next to, thats it, only the wing.. its pretty crazy stuff

thats a pretty serious loop at start, they made it to the ceiling, thats ..realy high lol

these guys have seen the blue angels many times i bet; or just got a manual to their stunts, on the vertical brakes? i've never seen that, but what i have seen is the something heart, where they break out like that, and then come towards each other and it makes a heart shape (that.. has killed many pilots too)

owell, awesome video to share there tweak
Quote from XCNuse :....

The object of flying formation is always the lead pilot... he is in a sense controlling the whole group. But yeah there are guides and manuals on how they do their stunts. There are videos actually... but not in detail. But they do tell you how they do certain tricks. One I remember from a video I have is how they do a barrel roll. It isn't as simple as rolling to the left and you're done. They yank the stick up very quickly and then snap it to the left. And for precision they'd use the rudder if need be. Lots of stuff pilots do, and those virtual guys are doing the exact same thing. I am 100% they have crashed a lot when making that video.
