Event Specifiics
Race:
1. Alerting the Administration: Use @sc to alert administration to look at your car or the section of track you were in when you use the @sc command.
2. Start and Safety Cars: Safety Car will lead the field through 1 formation lap (The Rescue Car will pace the GT2 field under the same conditions). It will lead the field all the way to the pit entry. After Turn 12, the field needs to form into double file, the leader maintaining pitlane speed (with a 10 kph / 6 mph variance allowed). This speed MUST be maintained from that point until the GREEN FLAG.
The FIRST GREEN FLAG message is for GT1; the SECOND GREEN FLAG message is for GT2. We will do our best to clarify "GT1 READY" and "GT2 READY".
On Restarts, the Safety Car will pull away from the field after Turn 8. It must not be overtaken before it crosses the 1st Safety Car line.
3. Points Awarding Marks: Half-Points will be awarded to all cars who have completed 75% of their class leader's laps at the lap completed after 8 hours AND 16 hours have elapsed. A result will be taken for all cars completing laps, starting with the GT1 leader as he completes the first lap after 6 hours have elapsed. A reminder of this point approaching will be made if possible in IRC, then when that result is taken will be announced as the overall leader is approaching the completion of the lap ending after 6h.
Full Points will be awarded at race completion, as usual.
Should the race be suspended and not restarted or shortened otherwise for any reason at any point, half-points will be awarded at the halfway point of the part of the race that was completed. If the race-end points are pro-rated because of not completing enough of the race for full points, the half-time points will also be pro-rated the same amount.
4. Wind Conditions: There will be low wind for the race. Administration will broadcast the wind speed and approximate direction of the wind during the pace lap. Flags are visible at the following points of the course: Driver's left exiting Oval Turn 3 / Turn 13, Driver's left behind pit building at main straight kink; Driver's Left entering Turn 8; Driver's Right Exiting Turn 8; Driver's Right at split 2; Driver's Right between Turn 12 and Turn 13 / Oval Turn 3
5. Blue Flag Behaviour: This circuit is wide and has several fast sections which should allow some easy overtaking with the class speed differential. GT2s must still be ready to yield on corner entry where safe and reasonable to do so, once the GT1s are close enough to be ahead by corner exit where they can use the speed advantage to pull away. GT1s still must not force the issue, and also must be clear when they are approaching a GT2 car.
6. Communications: Each team must have a team representative in our IRC channel, #ndr at irc.gamesurge.net for the duration of the race. Failure to have a representative in IRC when contact is needed will result in the penalty prescribed by the rules. We will also be available in the NDR TeamSpeak server: teamspeak.newdimensionracing.com - Race Control messages will be broadcast to anyone in a channel in the Pit Wall in TS.
7. Driver Naming: Be sure to be in your proper name format (Number Green for GT1; Red for GT2, space, then First initial last name [eg. 00 J. Palmer]. The name must be in WHITE.
8. Tracker: Tracker will be available and running on http://tracker.newdimensionracing.com. Please point out any errors you note to us during the race.
9. Miscellany: Do NOT under any circumstances Shift+P or Shift+S during the race without authorization from Race Control.
After finishing the race, please slow WELL BELOW racing speeds after Turn 1 / Oval Turn 1 and proceed around into pit lane. A Parc Ferme area will be created before all the pit stalls begin.. The top 3 in each class shall report back to Start / Finish Line for podium pose.
Please post any procedural questions in this thread.
Good luck!
