Please, don't take that note with swiss and his russian surname so emotionally. I have no intention of blaming or whatsoever. It's was just a personal note. It's just a personal reference to that swiss. It makes ore easy to remember him when his surname is russian, that's it.
I wasn't racing, I ways trying to get within 5 sec of you others guys qualification times I'm often on cargame durign the evening hours, can't see myself commiting to a series.
On the Olympics, I have to say I'm a little proud seeing the current result tables Waiting for the bob sled rounds, guess we can get a few Golds there aswell. The 500m iceskating was crazy, podium full of dutchmen.
It's a mystery to me, how dutchmen can be so good at iceskating. What is the situation in the Netherlands? Are athletes sponsored really well? What is the situation out there?
Its their national past time- skating on frozen rivers. What I dont understand is why they dont play ice hockey on frozen rivers as well - good skating is 70% of success in hockey aaand hockey is fun
We have a ton of national competition with several commercial skating teams. Afaik no other country has commercialised the sport to this level, so it's very popular for young athletes, who generally get excellent support and world-class training. That and the aforementioned cultural aspects of course! All this means there's a huge pool of potential winners.
