The online racing simulator
D1 Drifting Game, I raise my eyebrows at you.
Just read through an issue of Game Informer, and happened to stumble upon an ad for "D1 Professional Drift Grand Prix Series" THE VIDEO GAME. I don't really mind the ad too much, but something makes me doubt the claim of "The most realistic drifting physics engine in a video game." Naturally, they have a whole bunch of "pretty" tracks and cars, and licensed drivers and crap, but mainly, I feel like ranting about their physics claim. Right now, I'm going to assume no matter what, LFS puts the smack down on it's arse physics-wise.

At least the Dev ain't EA.

EA are appealing to the lowest common denominator, and theyre hoping if they say its a sim, people who want a sim will get it (even if it isnt) and that it will make people think they are good drivers, which is garanteed to get them more saled
I said it wasn't made by EA, and it really isn't. :S
gt claims to be an accurate simulation as well ... so does lfs even though lfs itself isnt all that accurate (closest weve ever gotten imho but still off)

the point im getting at is that the word simulation has no real meaning especially if you cant predict the error of the simulation

but yes im sure lfs beats it hands down in the driving physics depatment ... however ive also got a feeling that even if they get it just remotely correct it will still be a lot better and realistic to drift than all those games where the tyre physics are a complete mess past slip angle peak

I don't think EA actually makes any games anyways. They're just a publisher aren't they? I know none of their racing games were made by them. The F1 and NASCAR games were all made by ISI until EA lost the F1 license. After that, ISI left and started rFactor. Some new company is making the new NASCAR games for EA, and just like the real NASCAR, it's more about the off-track bull than the actual racing.

EA do develop some games AFAIK.
I thought that the EA owns some game studios which basically make all their games to be published by EA, like Westwood (C&C) or EA Sports. Or what do I know, does Westwood even exist anymore? (at least the first red alert was pure gold btw.)
