Daily hotlap challenge
Hello! Got hopefully a potential idea:

Before attempting to make a hotlap ( for real deal or just a try), it could be cool to have an additional feature called daily challenge.

at nowadays, in LFSWorld, there is hotlaps stored, the WR, own PB, the ranks, including MHR and so on. But I am missing a one feature what I have said already.

Racer makes a laptime ---> uploads to LFSW ----> others try to make it better. And all daily times will be resetted after 24 hours ( except PB or even WR of course.) Also LFSW would start to count Best daily laptimes and times laptimes broken. Also, daily records and so on should be counted as well.

Not sure what you think, but I would definetily try some, if possible.

Also, it should be possible to find it in LFS.exe to see who has done the best laptime on each combo or with /command or so.

EDIT: of course, it is basically making stats again, but people who likes hotlapping on exact combo, they should be excited. "Finally something fresh than trying to beat eternal WR"

EDIT2: Also, and why not, if daily, why not weekly or even mothly as well, though those starts to be not so useful to satisfy, but anyway...

EDIT3: how about also LFSWorld would choose randomly car and track for daily as specific daily hotlap challenge and people try to beat that as well.
This would sound cool and I fully support the idea of having it totally random and the reward can be an article about the fastest person on the LFS world news.
Weekly sounds good.
I like the idea
Actual WRs are, and will continue to be, totally supernatural and unbeatable for casual, less-talented/skilled pilots (like me).

In this way, many pilots could look forward to a more "human" and enjoyable target (though temporary).
This temporary "joy" will eventually be beaten 5 minutes later by another pilot, but that's the whole meaning of it.
Sounds like a nice idea. Could be LFS's version those "random" challenges of some games (FIFA is the only one coming to my mind now, where you have the Top matches of next week to play).

What would be additionally something, to have multi-lap records in the mix. A 6 lap challenge FE3 with BF1, for example and the week after a hotlap challenge with LX4 in WE2.

Weekly seems reasonable. Maybe combining it with some sort of ranking, independant from PBs and WRs. (Elo-Rating? )
We can do this project without involving LFS dev team. If you like the idea of a group of servers on which you can enter and do laps there it is easily doable. Then we need a few $ donations for servers or servers sponsorship with place for a InSim (at least in PHP).

Why do you need a server for it? When you base it on LFS' hotlaps, you can actually do it via a website, that uses LFS World stats as a source. I guess that costs less and is more to what I believe this idea was about.

However, I can talk easy, since I have no idea at all how to program such a website
I agree this can be done without involvement from LFS devs.
Many leagues have some sort sort of tracker/top list that shows lap times during practice week. (I am not biggest hotlapping fan, so never paid too much attention to that) For example http://cityliga.de/index.php/en/season/tracker_en
On others there are insim system where you type !top into chat and it displays some times table.
That is already similiar to what is needed, only must use LFSworld hotlaps instead. Maybe ask in insim/programer forum?

Would not be same, as if people want to use vanilla LFSW statistics, but yeah, np
