We had an absolutely crazy storm about 8 years ago. It only took about 10 minutes to pass over, but I have never seen rain and lightning like it and doubt I ever will.

At it's height there were two or three lightning flashes PER SECOND (absolutely no exaggeration). The sky was literally like a strobe-light and I was actually getting pretty scared watching it.
