Welcome to 2014 Kyoto 500 Race day!

Here is the raceday timetable:

17:50 UTC: ALL DRIVERS in BOTH LFS server AND TeamSpeak 3 Server!
18:00 UTC: Gridding begins
18:06 UTC: Driver's Briefing (via TeamSpeak)
18:11 UTC: Pace Laps start (2 pace laps)
18:15 UTC: Green Flag (Race official scored distance 268 laps)

Weather Conditions: Clear Day; Low Wind

TS info and Server Info will be PMed to you Wednesday overnight into Thursday morning.

I quite liked this Driver's Guide that Jeff Garry (SkyDiver173) made ahead of the 2009 Kyoto 500, so you can have a link to it - READ IT - it's got some useful information:

Please remember that 268 laps is a long way, it usually takes on the order of 3h15-3h45 mins, let's not make it take too long alright?

theoretically, what is the fastest time we could do it? :P
About 2 hours 45 mins? One lap about 36,5 if consistent + pace laps + pit stops?

By the way, the LONGEST it could take, about 6h15m if 100% under SC. Although if you're going to do that, I'm just going to go to bed :P

Quickest Kyoto 500 was 2009, at 3:16:07.16, for an average speed of 151.85 mph (244.37 mph).

Slowest was 2012, run at 3:57:30.94 for an average speed of 125.38 mph (201.78 kph).

Think there was sometimes bit confusion with the tripple-lines: At start the safety car takes away one position.

Waaat o.o I am gonna ''die'' until i make it O.o
Would anybody (preferably somebody starting near me) like to practice drafting about an hour before the start of the race? This is my first Kyoto 500 and I'd like to perfect my set-up for drafting (and my drafting lines). I don't want to be the terrible drafting partner that holds all of my partners up because my gear ratios aren't correct or I'm down on experience.

Both sessions I participated in were basically just me due to the time difference

iirc he only did like 20 laps last year because he got shot out of the track when someone wrecked the field

That's quite unfair towards other people who would like a spotter as well, don't you think?

Spotting for a driver is not permitted, although nothing stops a participant who retires from the race for spotting for a teammate because they are authorised to be in the server.

Only those who have been given the server password by me will be authorised to be in the server during the event. Anyone who joins without being authorised will be banned from the server and perhaps all NDR events for a significant period of time, as well as anyone who gives out the password to unauthorised parties.
