OVERVIEW
Top class GT racing returns as the Genuine Racing GT1 Challenge is back! The series was cancelled originally at the end of last year, but will now run again in a proper sprint format. It will now be the GT1 equivalent of GT Masters, using the exactly same format: 24 hours of pre-qualifying from Friday evening to Saturday evening, followed by the main event consisting of a 20 minute long qualifying session and a roughly 75 minute long race. The key differences to what you saw earlier this year in GTM are that we've tweaked some things based on the feedback we received from the competing drivers, especially when it comes to the way multiple grids work.
There will still be two servers, but points will be awarded for overall positions with all classified cars of Server 2 being placed behind all classified cars in Server 1. For example: If 20 cars are classified on the first server, the winner on the second server will be classified in 21st position. That way, it actually is an advantage to pre-qualify yourself into Server 1 and it will also be rewarded accordingly.
All teams and drivers are welcome to participate in the series, there is no limit on how many drivers may race for a team, but only the best two drivers of a team can score points towards the team's standings in each round.
