I mainly lurk on here but my lovely wife has recently got me this for my birthday...

I cant find any kind of serious review or video of the experience anywhere online and was wondering...

A) If anyone has done it and has any tips or advice? I do quite a bit of karting and the odd track day so am hoping to be somewhere near the front but you only get two real laps so you need to get up to speed sharpish.

B) If anyone knows if you're allowed a helmet cam in the car? I've got my own lid with a go-pro setup but due to the absolute lack of any footage i can see on youtube i would suspect you arent allowed to use it?

I am no expert but you buy the experience so I would be pretty po'd if I could not record it with my own equipment. Not as if there is a safety issue.........

Can't see them stopping you using a GoPro, it does say on the faq page you are free to take pics, also make sure you don't bin it! This is also on the same page

The Top Gear track was in Gran Turismo 5 on the Playstation 3.
I'm not saying it is accurate enough, but might give you a head-start with the corners.

Many sims have the topgear track. Rfactor, rf2. Assetto corsa probably as well.

Yep Played to death in GT5, found it helpful when doing that with the ring but not sure how much difference it'll make when doing such a short circuit. Going to bring the helmet cam just in case though and if i can get something i'll post it here

Turns out they actually film you and provide the footage free of charge! who knew? Not like they advertise or anything...
