Quote :or was the problem rather that F1 cars can't overtake other F1 cars even if they're several seconds slower unless the pass happens in the pits?

You need to watch this one Vain, in wet races anyone can overtake, and anyone can make a mistake. The only exception is when you get a bone dry line and thick water either side (and when that happens it usually only lasts 10 laps or so), but either the mid race rain or perhaps the tarmac used or whatever meant this never really happened. The race is full of action, I think the director probably had a heart attack - he'd never seen an F1 overtake at Hungary since Mansell retired.
I had to pinch myself because I couldn't believe that I was actually watching a exciting F1 race. On the other hand pretty sad that without the rain this would've probably been yet another amazingly boring race. So let there be rain in every last 5 races of the season..
How brilliant to see actual passing - for positions! Drafting, outbraking, wheel-to-wheel madness, Schuey pushing (biffing) the boundaries of legality in protecting his position - all the prerequisites for a modern F1 race were there Yes, thank heaven for the rain!

And, of course, a giant :up::up: to Jense for his great drive. Superb to watch and so nice to see him smile! Go Jense!

Naturally though, James Allen's response to Jense taking the chequers was embarrassingly parochial and utterly over the top. I usually expect him to act like a TWAT but that was ever more twattish than I thought he was capable of

And yes, I think Schuey should have copped something for cutting up Pedro like that. A clear breach of rules and gentlemanly behaviour. Sure he retired later on but driving like that is ridiculous and indefensible (and n00bish tbh), I don't care how close you are to the series lead or how long you've been around - if anything, having Schuey's lengthy experience should have taught him that Pedro was way faster and he had no chance of catching that McLaren once he was in front....and that he would have been penalised and lost way more than one spot had he not retired. Stuff like that certainly doesn't help his rep much.
Quote from Matrixi :Was a nice race.. finally some excitement in the F1:s. A bit pissed off for Kimi tho. I so wanted him to win or atleast get to the podium. Oh well.

yeah very good race. As soon as i saw liuzzi slow down i knew kimi was gonna hit him lol. i've seen the same thing happen too many times in LFS.
Quote from mrbogeyman :looks like i loose that bet

Only the BMW's were checked to ensure they 'respected the minimum weight of 600Kg at all times'. This is done by draining and weighing the fuel left in the tank and subtracting it from the car's finishing weight.

The Ferrari was weighed (as were all classified cars), but not drained of fuel....

Why don't we start a campaign to get murray walker to commentate on radio 5 live! Then we can just mute our sets and enjoy the love murray has for the sport

A kid that young should definately not be trying to grow a beard.
i've had a mustache since i was 12 lol

me and jenson both have the same problem with growing beards. we both have bald spots in the same place.
ooooo. Good pic. He'll cherish that one f'shaw.

Ricky Chervais Commentating. Great.

What you want is one of the old playboys who could regale you of era's past and badly behaving drivers. Let's have Stirling, or Patrick Stewart. (No, thats wrong. I don't want to boldly go anywhere.. . . ) But you know what I mean.
Hmm reminds me I must have a shave tonight.....

Anyway, surely i'm not the only person who thinks Shumacher should've just let DLR and then possibly Heidfeld go and collect the 3/4 points he would've had? illepall
