The online racing simulator
Am I missing something in multiplayer?
Hey everyone!

When I log on to race I usually see 95% demo servers and almost no S1 and S2 servers (and only maybe 20 servers in total). Am I missing anything? Or do you think it's because I'm in the U.S. and most of the active players here are near the CET time zone and have gone to sleep and servers have gone offline by the time I get home and play?
More likely you are simply late to the party, most populated racing servers have come and gone. LFS is old hat and people are moving to greener pastures.

That's what I was afraid of. Oh well, still a fun game! Thanks.
If you only see 20 server you have maybe set some filters in serverbrowser.
At the moment I get 98. (at least 1 player)
But it will not change so much, beside demo public racing is mostly few servers. (Other servers are drifting or similiar non-racing things.)

However if you only go by serverlist then you miss something anyway.
There are organized races, for example this evening: https://www.lfs.net/forum/418-Fragmaster%27s-Fox-Friday
That would start in about 2 hours.
Basically most events you just join at the set time and drive. http://en.lfsmanual.net/wiki/League_Racing_Guide
Some leagues have sites where you can register to see non-public servers where people can do practice or test races.

Calender:

(Not always complete but okay for start.)
Thanks for the info! I was aware of league racing but had kind of forgotten about it in terms of general racing. I'll look around and keep an eye out for events!

I think you have a couple of problems trying to find populated servers...
  • Being only S1 licensed you cannot race on S2 servers
  • Being in the USA, you miss the 'prime time' of Europe, when most activity happens
Your best bet is maybe to try to race at weekends, when you can get on early your time and still catch a lot of Europeans online.
