The online racing simulator
Replay script
Hello,

since I have trouble to do live streaming from my computer, I asked myself how to efficiently take on a re-live recording of a stream: e.g. you record the commentators live, and do the stream around it in post production. This brings a few problems with it. since you need to go through everything three times and do camera changes and (if you are not using tv director) the overlays manually.

Recently I came to the idea, that it would be handy to simply use the lfs cameras, the replay time code and the lfs username in some sort of txt file and let the rest be scripted:

[timecode] [camera] [LFS World Name]
00:00:00.00, A, TFalke55
00:00:10.00, B, troy
00:01:00.12, C, n3ox
...

with A B C being different standard cameras (e.g. A=TV, B=Heli, C=custom,...)

Afterwards you should be able to just use fraps or alike to record it and you can upload it to youtube.

This would also require some sort of overlay system, TV director like, showing the current standings with gaps. But maybe it could show more information, if they are extractable from the replay file, like time in pitlane, given penalties or fastest laps :P

I hope someone takes on the challenge, I'd be really happy if.

Thanks for reading. Smile
Did I understand correctly:

1) You want to spectate the race live
2) You commentate on race and record your microphone
3) meanwhile a tool records your camera/views and saves to txt file
4) Then you start replay and record it with fraps
5) A tool reads back the txt file and switches camera/views in same way as you did, so that video and commentator voice match.
6) There should also be info-overlay (which driver is shown, standings,..)
7) Combine audio & video with video-editor

?

This https://www.lfs.net/forum/post/1887467#post1887467 can save & play back camera positions.
Not from a file though.

Info overlay: There exist at least 2 other tools beside TV-Director, dont know their names.
Like the one used here: https://youtu.be/o7TmnuNMBpk?t=4545
