The inaugural V8 Racing League race wasn't between the most exciting races in racing history as leading trio S.Litmanen,M.Kapal and Vitaly spread out and pulled away from rest quite early,where the leader had a dominating pace setting one fastest lap after another,but at least lower in positions list there was a little fight left - Arco and Rony never got apart from each other more then 5 seconds,exchanging positions after mistakes - Arco was faster early in race,but never found way pass Rony,while it was practically other way round later in race. Lap 29 brought major misfortune to leader,where his connection gave up destroying S.Litmanen's race and handed over secure run towards victory lane to M.Kapal. Vitaly came home 2nd,Arco was able to defend his 3rd and rounded up this race's podium. Rony and Minisenao were the only other drivers in leading lap,while 11 drivers crossed the finish lane and another 2 completed the required 2/3 distance to score points towards championship.



After round 1 of course most positions are the same as round race results,where only S.Litmanen jumps 3 places due scored round bonus points - M.Kapal has 3 point lead over Vitaly and 5 point lead over Arco. With another 5 rounds to go,theoretically any driver is eligible for championship - even without taking part in round one.

Since no team had more then one finisher,teams championship is similar to drivers championship - Savage Simsports leads over Corse Motorsports by 3 points with Conquest Racing in 3rd. Nations Cup also has same top 3 - Czech Republic first with Russion Federation 2nd and Poland 3rd,but at least lower in table there are closer points situations.

Next round is scheduled 3 weeks after round one - in 19th july VERL will be run on the only LFS urban track for South City 200,using the challenging Chicane reversed configuration. Let's see what effect will City's close barriers have on League's championships!

Allthough the track of round 2 isn't much narrower then in season opener,the barriers might scare off the most claustrophobic drivers - V8 Racing League will continue it's first season in the public streets track of South City for a 200 kilometer race. If the fastest driver of round one will be able to put behind his connection failure,we might experience start of an interesting chase through out the season. After round 2,first third of the season will be complete and we might already see who will form main battle for championship - anyone still has a chance to put him into favourites list,even new joiners!

Don't like the KY3 layout. GP Long is a beautiful, fast, flowing track that suits the FO8 but the layout is totally out of character.

It's a bit like taking Spoon out of Suzuka and replacing it with a section from Long Beach.
