Developers have stated themselves that LFS is their 1st income source. Yes they did notice the drop in income and Victor had to find another job but for Scawen (and I believe Eric?) it's their primary source for quite some time now

I hoped for more cars and tracks too, but LFS is still a very good
game. It may not be as entertaining to us, because we are used to it.
but it's still a great game! It has not gotten worse with time, it's
just very stagnant.

Play other games, enjoy them! If you're like me at all, you really
hope that LFS becomes even more advanced, for me that is because I
think it has a lot more potential. Until then, what can we do?
