Hi!
I've been aware of LFS for years but only now decided to buy it because I wasn't so much into simulators. My favorite game before now has been Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed (for the physics). I have come to realize that even if that is so, there's something to enjoy about LFS for everyone. I'm not a competitive guy and I'm more into the "get together and have some fun" kind of thing, which is exactly what I can get on Cruise servers.
There's a couple of praising words I have got to say to the developers:
- The game averages about 200-300 fps during normal gameplay even on my POS computer, which is nothing less than a glorious level of optimization. Look and learn, EA!
- The graphics look very good. There are no silly filters. The visibility is fantastic. This is also one of the few games that actually support aspect ratios other than 16:9 and 4:3, which means I can enjoy using the entirety of my 5:4 screen without stretching the image. Huge thank you for that.
- LFS also supports my Thrustmaster Ferrari 458 Italia VG steering wheel, which is also great because A LOT of other stuff does not. Test Drive Unlimited being a notable example.
- The physics are the closest I've come to the actual feeling of driving on the PC.
- Damage model. Yeah!
So, in essence, what I could tell a potential buyer of LFS reading this: Yes, it's worth every penny.
Thank you very much for making such a wonderful piece of software. If everyone put in so much effort into their coding, the world would be a much better and more efficient place.
