LFS Educational Movies - Reloaded
There is a thread with "LFS Educational Movies" but all the downloads have disappeared. This thread is bit similiar idea.
It might be helpful to replay the video clips a few times.

Everyone is hopefully more or less familiar with the rules and guidelines about racing.
But what does it look like in action? What causes crashes?
That is the idea of these videos.

I wrote some text to the videos, but that is just my own interpretations. It is in clickable spoiler-tags so that readers can think their own thoughts first. Tilt

Disclaimer:
If you recognize yourself as "bad guy" please do not take it too much to heart Wink and think that others can learn from it, too. I crash as much as anyone else, but simply recorded the scenes that were quickest to find in replays.
In text I used neutral descriptions instead of names but some drivers could of course be recognized by the colors of their car. It does not matter whose car is in the video or what else happend in the race, just the scene itself.

Spoiler - click to revealDue to a previous incident the black car goes for a ride:
It slides over grass, across track through the traffic, into grass again before driver regains control.
While rejoining the track the black car crosses path with another car and causes it to spin.
It would have been better to wait or continue on grass around the bend.

Spoiler - click to revealSuch chain reaction can happen when yellow flags and 'safe rejoin' rules are ignored.

1) The red-white-blue car spins.
In attempt to rejoin the race around the car drives backwards into the path of two oncoming cars.
2) More cars arrive. The red car slows down and avoids contact.
The black car is going to fast and hits the cars ahead.
3) The grey car is spun around and faces wrong way. Attempt to turn around via a burnout fails and the manovuer becomes a three-point-turn. The green car comes around the corner and is hit by the grey car.
4) At end the green car also reverses in bit dangerous way.

Spoiler - click to revealAt start of race cold tires and stressed nerves do not mix well.
Three cars run of the track in the same turn - without contact.
Driving behind other cars causes decreased grip by stealing downforce. It also makes it harder to see the track and brake points. The race can not be won in first lap, only lost.

Note: The engine of the white-blue car is stalled after spinning.
Spoiler - click to revealAfter spin the a car comes to stop in middle of track.
Following cars slow down more and manage to avoid the obstacle: They obeyed yellow flag.
The white car was a bit too fast (or surprised) and hits the barrier.
The red-blue car does not make it past and crashes the stationary car. Maybe too fast, maybe chose wrong side to dodge, maybe bad luck and bit of lag.

Note: The smaller green car is a lap behind.
Spoiler - click to revealThe red car prepares to overtake the green car.
Green & red car leave each other lots of room, so there is huge gap between them.
The small green car at first sees chance to pass through the empty space, but then reconsiders and brakes:
It was not worth the risk. Even in a fight for position turning a 2-wide situation into 3-wide is rarely worth it.

Spoiler - click to revealTwo drivers spin each other. The blue car wants to be polite and waits. However the way he does it is questionable:
He is stopping in the middle of the track and creates an extra obstacle.

Spoiler - click to revealAfter running into back of the black/yellow car, the red car's driver gives the position back at the next oppurtunity.

Good stuff Thumbs up I like the way you try to get some positively serious and useful conclusions from so much messed up situations Big grin
That chain reaction is so commonly seen, I remember having pretty much similarly long on KY2 multiclass, caused by me, haha
