I currently have my HUD set up so that it's about 1.5 metres from my viewpoint, so that I can lean into my desk without it clipping and disappearing, but that does make some of the smaller text a bit hard to read - I was thinking that not all of the components of the HUD need to be at the same depth and flat angle.
It might be useful to be able to pull some of the HUD info closer to the driver position and angle toward the driver to make it easier to read - things like the driver list, minimap, chat, split times, etc.
A simpler alternative could be to offer a curved HUD option, that you could wrap around yourself to bring the outer corners in toward the driving position a bit more. A height adjustment might be useful too.
Also, on a side-note: does anyone know if there's a way to get rid of the tinted strip along the top of the HUD? I realise it's there to make things easier to see, but it kills the immersion a bit...
