Today with the first S3 league race of the new year the FBM gets a bit more space at South City Long reversed (SO4R)
(not more spacious in sideways direction)

you need to:

a) register at http://www.absolute-beginners.nl to see the server passwords
b) add a class number behind your name (yourname /number eg. johneysvk /3)
if it's your first time racing at AB (which i guess it is), put a /4 in there

then it's just turning up to the quali and race

No, the number behind the / is indicating in which class you will be racing. Any new driver in the AB.nl leagues will start in class 4. Based on your results, you can get 'promoted' to another league. Those 'promotions' are announced by the AB.nl admins before the start of a new season.

The AB forum is tiny and confusing though, if I'm right the only leagues available are S3 (As in Season 3, or S3 License..?) and Formula League (What type?)

I'll be joining from the next event on the 29th. Having used LFS from time to time from 2010 for practice purposes for IRL racing I expect a clean race and wish everyone the best of luck.

S3 league = all cars and tracks of LFS (with some limits: no rallyetracks etc)
Cup = seperate championship every third sunday. currently it is FBM Cup with sprint & main races.
In past there were Rally Cups, F1, Fz5 with success-ballast,..and other such stuff that is bit different formats.
