Asleep At The Wheel
Have you done it?

It seems that even mildest LFS driver gets a little carried away from time to time.

Tell us how it happened and what you found when you woke.

Last night was the first time I was asleep at the wheel (that I Know of) although Im shure some of my competetors might disagree.

When ever I turn my artifical idiots loose to learn.

Before leaving I go out on the track for a lap or two ( for what reason I dont know).

Today I woke to the sound squealing tires and the roar of engines ( Could have been worse I guess )

I was upside down and against the wall at the Kyoto oval with the motor off and out of fuel.

Where my artificial idiots had been repeatedly crashing in to me and then repairing themselves for how long I dont know (at least no one saw this)

To make matters worse I think I remember dreaming about being crashed in lfs.( how disturbing )

I hope Im not the only one

See Yall at the track, Dean

lol....

I've never fallen asleep at the wheel (!). I've driven when i shouldnt have tho, to the point where i have only one eye half-open
I've had microsleeps at the wheel (many Aussie forumers will know what they are thanks to Dr Karl ). I've never completely gone to sleep at the wheel though, and I got a laugh out of your story.

For me it's usually going to sleep on the couch during a GP. Man, I haven't seen the end of a race all year.
I haven't fallen asleep at the wheel in LFS, I'm normally too pumped up lol .. but quite a few years ago, at a netty, I had been drinking (and had a smoke or two ) ... we were playing Need For Speed and I passed out at the wheel, woke up a while later to find my car smashed up against the wall of a building eheh.

LMAO! its a microslip aint it? And either have i, always fall asleep in champcar and f1 .

And to the topic.. i dont "legally" drive if you know what i mean WINK WINK!
Microsleep
Macrosleep or uber sleep forgot to mention I was in the BF1.

I think microsleep would need one of those little shugar cubes with wheels But real race cars dont have doors

I guess microsleep could occur in a MRT.

No disrespect intended I fell asleep at the end of a very long session.

R-Factor, Netkar, GT-whatever or that sierra crap I would have been in dreamland before the green flag.

I own all of them and only LFS made it to my latest system!

I havent fallen asleep at the wheel in lfs but used to alot in gran turismo 3 on the test course, would wake up when the car bashed into the barrier, that track was so incredibly boring to drive, it happens in real life if you just stare at the road ahead and nowhere else, kinda puts you in a trance and you doze off.

i have only fallen asleep after I finished a long night of racing and go check the replays.

the only thing the woke me up is the menu tune
I had a microsleep on blackwood in the fox, on the straight...at 130mph...i steered into the wall and managed to damage my car in a way that wasn't possible even if i was trying to damage it that bad...the chassis actually bent...*digs out picture*

ooh thats unusual. iv never fell asleep at the wheel.
Haha never happened to me, but I quite like the idea that if I did I would be able to watch a replay and find out exactly where I nodded off and how I ended up upside down against a wall with the engine roaring
this is slightly of topic, BUT, do you think its possible to fall asleep on a 24 hour oval server and stil win a race while asleep?

Do you think its possible that you can go to bed anytime you like?

There is a life outside of LFS!

If your sleeping at the wheel in a sim game you need help!

what if you fall asleep in a workmans club while everyone else is breathing helium?
Best thing to do is go without sleep for 48 hours and then go on lfs you will be amazed how good your reactions can be without sleep
