WOW great! wish my gf buy me a day out of driving experience!
Well if any of you want to check out how much grip their tires have, I definitely recommend NOT to do it in any public spaces.

When I had my old Renault 5 I lost the back once and did a reaaaally long slide. Sadly I didnt straighten wheel fast enough after counter steering and I ended up parked facing the wrong way after doing a 180º...I wasnt scared because no one was going behind me, but feeling the rear end starting to go its own way in a two lane street corner is not fun at all...

BTW that was back in 2003 when I was still playing Sports Car GT, Im sure if S2 had been out by that time I would have saved it clean lol

I'd love to do a driving experience, only problem is, without a driving licence you're stuffed, but people who do seem to be slower drivers (I found that out at a karting event) :P

That should provoke a response or two

So is there any other way of doing this? Maybe by obtaining an MSA licence, I could do it?
hah.. and you'll be slower once you get your license too

especially at first; its only the truth, this is how you'll feel:

week 1: sweet i got my license i can do whatever i want now (.. well.. not quite, still under your parent's rules)
week 2: this is still fun blah blah

after about a month, you'll actually understand what on earth is going on, and start to pay attention to absolutely everything going on around you, checking your quadrants incase anything were to happen so you would have somewhere to go in a hurry if you had to, glimpsing both ways while crossing intersections to see if anyone is comming, and the list goes on

thats how i felt; and this is how i feel now

if i could get into a racing cart last year when i went with friends of my sister, i would probably have no idea whats going on, but most likely be fast.. if you took me now (well.. actually i probably would be fast either way cause i know what racing is all about lol)

its just one of those teenage features; you think your invincible... just wait a while and you'll be scared out of your mind what can happen
i would tell a story about comming home from school today, but.. this post is long enough lol

Just let him have his first driving lesson or feel the pressure in the driving test... He'll know then...

I've ridden on the road. Going on an A road heading towards the M25 on a scooter in the pouring rain in november with 3 articulated lorries to your left right and in front of you is NO fun, that day I soiled myself. I know scared, and I can do whatever I please at home, this house is laid back, AND i'm not in school anymore, haven't been now for 2 years.

Plus, i'm not talking about a driving licence i'm talking about the Motor Sports Association competition licence.
your my age and your out of school?

.. lucky bastard
Lol, i've been out of school for over a year now and i'm not even 17 yet (January) so I guess you've got it bad!
Quote from Gimpster :If you people want to explore the performance envelope in your real cars there is a very inexpensive and redily avalable outlet. Autocross. At least here in the US is cheap and you can often fine several venues a month.

Yep, the cheapest safest way to figure out what your car can or can't do is autocross. In the US, join the SCCA and go out to some local events, they're about $20 here. If your region has practice days those are the days to go, you can get 10+ runs on a good practice day down here (FL) .

lol, Wankel, you're in FL? I'm in Jacksonville, only for two more days though. ... You're also within a month of my own age, according to your profile. You been to any autocrosses here lately?
im going down to daytona the end of next summer with a friend of mine, possibly go to the beach and then disneyworld or something; not sure just yet since it is a year away

i know Tai Fong races, but im not sure if its SCCA, i cant remember, he sent me a link to the club hes in, but i deleted all my PMs the other day so i dont remember, and he lives like half a mile from my school so..
