And... he didn't know , hehe . Its in polish languange , and it means Polish Drift Federation . But it wasnt enough ! He was still lieing... really funny guy , remember , Nut Clap.

i think that ppl like this shoudl be banned or sth , cuz its really pissing of when u work on your skin few hours , and smb just take it and says that he made it ! ..

*sigh* It is annoying when your skins are seen out there on other cars, but is it not a compliment to your work that people want to be seen out with your skin...

Its not right, and its not perfect, but there isnt really much that can be done about it, its not an offence which I would personally ban for.

Yes , ban is to much , but , stealing skin is too , to much ! Sth should be done in this direction . Skins of other players shouldnt be downloaded to a normal folder in lfs data.

I can understand how it feels to have your skin stolen (happened to me many times in the past), but take it easy, and don't overreact for something which is absolutely pointless to get mad about. If you know who has edited over your skin, you can try to contact him politely, so things can be resolved without harm to each other.

To steal something, or for stomething to be stolen, just means to take without concent. If he used rape (to take by force) then he'd need some perspective.

Pffff....I can understand why someone might feel a little aggreaved by it, but its not like its a crime is it, someone is USING a skin, not STEALING anything.

Perspective is needed because there is a little more to get pissed about in this world than someone using a skin you made.

But if the skin is marked as copyright then it is a copyright violation, and the police take this very seriously indeed...

There may be a possibility that you have falsely accused that guy of stealing. IIRC, LFS does not guarantee that skins have unique names. If the two of you were using different skins but with the same names, then on your PC you would see his car with your skin, while he was actually using his own skin.

(Somebody correct me if I'm wrong. I don't remember all the details because I don't really care about skins, but it would be sad if someone was falsely blamed.)

I don't have a problem with people using my skins, that's why I do them, I enjoy the design and seeing others racing them.
But when they try to pass it off as their own work then I get very disappointed, sad that some people feel like they have to lie like this, they are only really deceiving themselves.

Oh that is true wsinda, I cannot believe nobody thought of that. This is the most common issue too.

aLLy, what is the filename of your skin?

EDIT: NM, it is XRT_SUMOPOWER.jpg, and a nice skin. There is also the possibility that he made a skin called XRT_SUMOPOWER.jpg too, but never uploaded it to LFSW because you already uploaded yours. His version could be completely different, yet you see him using yours. Kind of complicated, but you see what I mean?

Sometimes i put a skin on not realising if it is a private skin or a team skin (but now i realise team skins ) but if it's a private skin i dont really realise, only until someone says "Get that F*****g skin off Now!" and i wonder what the hell they are goin on about, there isn't need to shout at someone if they use someone elses private skin, it's bound to happen. I definately wouldn't pass any skins i use as my own cos i can't skin. To all the skinners of the skins i use.... Good Job!! just dont shout at someone if they use ur skin, talk sensibly

Here is the skin that the other guy ACTUALLY made, but it had the same filename, so that was the problem..... problem solved.

LFSW would actually solve this. This has nothing to do with LFSW even. It is all about the files on their own harddrive locally.

Nut Slap has XRT_SUMOPOWER.jpg (but his own version he just made a few days ago)

IF Nut Slap had taken his skin and tried to upload it to LFSW, he would've found out that someone already was using this filename, and should've changed the filename of the skin so there were no conflicts. aLLy already had his skin on LFSW, so his name was reserved. So Nut Slap just didn't upload his, and used the same filename... that is the problem. LFSW would've solved this issue, and if Nut Slap had found out the filename was taken... but I guess this was just an unlucky time.

That's not realy the same thing, is it? If you download MP3, legal or illegal, are you stealing it? If you shoplift a CD what about then? This data duplication in Internet is sometimes complicate to define when it's legal and when it's illegal.
Of course I don't like when someone is using something without permission but also I do it almost everyday listening downloaded music.

All the more reason to include your own or your team name in skins.

That's what they say about "piracy" (=warez, thats not really piracy) . In both the product is copied without author's permission. They say I steal by downloading hundreds of DVD's so I can say that guys using others' private skins steal.

But that was total offtopic, I'd really prefer "unauthorized using" instead of "stealing".

I bumped into a guy online the other night who recognised me from my skin, and went on to tell me he'd based his first skin off my first skin. I just blushed with pride, even if my first skin was a bit crap.

I see that he had done skin with the same name , but ! when i asked him about that inscription , he saw that ! But he didnt know what it means , so unfortunatly , he had a skin with the same name , but at the moment he was using mine ! Cuz he didnt told me that he cant see that inscription , he just told me that he dont know what it means.

Aa and i forgot , he said that he made a repilic cuz he really liked it ... ye sure.

I think you are having some communication problems because when viewing that replay, all you guys are doing is swearing at him and giving him a hard time without even figuring things out. If you asked him to read some inscription, you really think he will know what you mean??? He probably had no clue what was going on.... especially for the fact that he was being accused of stealing someone's skin. You overreacted, and it still baffles me why you are trying to prove something that isn't true.

Was just a filename issue, that's it. Nobody stole your skin, problem solved.
