Don't worry about WR... they get constantly analysed, as some other forum thread is suggesting. No one's willing to give up a world record unless it's fairly achieved, so WR holders (and users who love replay analysis) already rightfully police their hotlaps.
during the short life of this thread, i already dropped 0.25s from my as club xfr gt PB (i confess, its a flaimbate, but based of true facts!)

there are setups out there that when i try them i cant believe how they stick to the ground in some corners, but you can tell its all honest work in them the moment you start messing with those setups and realise how they work.

unless there are driving AIM-Bots out there ahah
Quote from CSU1 :Ok if the name&shame approach won't work, a different approach could be used like something to the effect of>If a wr on any split is broken the driver's name would be logged for the server admins to analyze? just a thought

im actually gonna take a step back and think about this one

that does sound like a good idea for LFS to hard program limits for split times; i mean, lets say for example split 2 in the BF1 (just because i dont recall the 2nd split times in BL for any other cars) if you have a split <35 seconds.. which even that would be rediculously fast, you should automatically be kicked or spectated
I have driven many many miles online. Never ever have I seen something, that made me suspicious. At some time, there was a debate about speedhacking, in the danish Lfs community. After that somebody saw ghosts (it was only ordinary lag and a very good driver)

That`s the nearest I have been to the subject.

Nobody can cheat, using a sort of speed hack. Most hotlappers, now precisely the max speeds, for a car, on a given place on a track. On Asclub, in some cars, I would be very alarmed if a driver suddenly did 2 km`s faster, down the straigth.

I don`t think it will be possible to cheat many hours, if you race against the "pro`s" of Lfs. They would blow your cover instantly. Those kind of guys can tell from your driving, whether you cheat or not.

It`s nearly impossible, and you will get caugth, if you cheat - So, just don`t do it ! It`s as easy as that

Hmmm

It would be better to analyse the torque. A given car can`t exceed a given value. Maby a programme could analyse that !?

I don`t know if I am expressing myself, in a understandable manner - I mean, measure the power. It`s a given value for each car !

Maybe not a kick but as soon as a split/lap time is broken the player is then put into lobby(lets say the garage for now) where his time is either accepted or rejected by lfsw, the latter resulting in a ban?

What might be fun is if somebody (namely me) made an AI with adjustable parameters and we could then have a race where we battle it out with programmed AI's. I've put some thought into this already but i've not started because of other projects.

Sorry but that wouldn't work either, Imagine your doing the 1st race of the season in OLFS and you get a tow down the main straight and get a better than the WR split, you'd be pissed if you got kicked right?

And on tracks like so long rev some of the WR's have barely been hotlapped so the WR will be easily beaten then you would be kicked for beating a WR time which isn't actually that fast.

I've saw 1 person cheat online and it was really obvious, he overtook me at the start of a XRG race, then I watched him down the straights where he would gain loads of places, sad really.
Quote from ajp71 :I don't think that I've ever actually seen anyone cheating online, demo or S2.

me neither. i think there is way too much fuzz about this. seems like cheating is very rarely a problem in LFS. i guess this will be dealt with immediately and then we will have another year without any major cheats.

if you look at counterstrike, der are plenty of cheats and nothing much is really done about it except banning those who use them. there a cheater an enter the server anytime. here in LFS that only happens ever so rarely.

It was XCNuse who suggested to kick/spectate a driver which won't work, but rather to have LFS notify LFSW with a log of the race when a split/lap wr is broken.
The server admins/LFS devs then have proof if a driver is suspected to be cheating. "for LFS to hard program limits for split times; "
Scawen has released a test-version of the next test-patch U20 (U20 Beta if you like). This should prevent the cheat. It requires some testing to ensure everything works as it should, and that the problem is fixed. See the Test-Patch forum for more details (I won't link it because the link will be out of date by this evening anyway, so you can find it yourself).
