Computer can't handle LFS
LFS was great, I spent too many hours playing LFS1, so when I got LFS2 I was happy with it and decided to buy the whole thing, but it won't run on my computer cause it's too slow.

This pisses me off, cause I can't get my money back, can't afford to buy a better computer, and why can't LFS2 have an option of running the same graphics as LFS1?

All I ask is that LFS2 is capable of running on a p3 800. pleeeeeeeeease

my graphics card is an ati 9200. (I'm aware it's not that good but LFS1 ran well on this setup so LFS2 should as well.)
should run it fine.
Well most people by now should have up to date hardware although there are quite a few people that play LFS on dinosours. Me I get free upgrades from my dad and I kinda need to for playing CS:S and BF2. ATI 700xt here or w/e nothing special for nowadays. I suppose just save up for now. You should of tried the S2 demo first to find out it runs on your comp first.
Your graphics card is fine but you're definitely CPU limited.

I used to run S1 on a athlon 800. It was okay if I was on my own on the track, but very very slow at the start, and if any AI were active doe to the high cpu activity.

S2 runs about the same, but worse online due to the generally higher number of cars, hence more physics calcs.
The P3-800 was state of the art over FIVE YEARS AGO. It is not reasonable to expect a modern game to run on ancient hardware. If you choose to use a machine that old, then you must live with the fact that it can't run the most state of the art games. Would you expect the next Papyrus/First Racing sim to run on a 286 like Indy Car Racing did? In fact, I'd say that LFS is probably the LEAST hardware intensive commercial racing sim on the market today. Try to run GTR or GT Legends on your machine and you'll be lucky to get 5fps even on minimum settings.

If you want better performance you need to upgrade. And since there's a full featured demo of S2, this should not have even been an issue.
I guess thats what they call progress

I agree with Cue-Ball though, you had every chance to notice any fps/playablilty problems with the free demo, so you cannot complain you now want your money back

So you were running S2 and was happy with it, then you brought a license and now it wont run because your computer is too slow?, sorry but thats the idea of demos. you should have noticed that it wasnt running very before you paid for the license....

I would very much doubt LFS2 would run satisfactory on a P3 800, I struggle with my work PC which is a 1.8ghz.

get the latest ATI drivers, in the Direct3D control panel set everything to HIGH PERFORMANCE

in LFS
set resolution to 640x480 16-bit, set all LOD to 0.00, disable rear-view mirror, and drive with the "over the hood" view (where you only see the wheels)

try it out, should give you playable FPS, even with a few cars around

..even my computer can barely handle GT Legends.. i was mad.....

as for options.. lower everything. Even I am getting higher FPS in S2 than i did in S1
Overclock the son of a gun ...Got me an extra 300mhz, and a few FPS in lfs
Go to the Dell refurbished site, snoop around and get a basic box for $300. You should be able to get at least a 2GHz machine for that kind of money. Use the monitor and graphics card that you have now.
wow... when your computer cant run lfs s2 i think that's a sign that its time to upgrade.

www.newegg.com -awsome site.

So what you saying is that you are asking the developers to lower the quality of the simulation so that you very dated PC will be able to run it. There is a version that already has this reduced physics set already... Its called LFS S1.

S2 now handles FAR more calculations than took place in S1. Tire heat/wear, damage to car body and suspension. Improved suspension and new diffs etc etc etc.

The LFS web site even for S1 used to state that 1GHz was min spec.

Sorry to say but it really is time for a new PC as you need a new CPU which will require a new mobo which will require new memory and all this will require a bigger PSU etc etc etc. You will probably find more and more games will not run on your system.
