Doesn't make different, they decide what to do with their job . We can just make noise and "know better" what they should do, but at the end, it is all ridiculous. Unhappy people will never get happy, even when they get what they want.
I'm not sure if we understand what is happening here. Developers are making changes to the game/sim engine, not just adding a new cars/tracks and better textures and this require some serious amount of time if its done with high precision and I'm really glad that they are not rushing it. All we need is a little more patience...
Saying LFS is a hobby project is another piss poor of an excuse. 36 pounds for a hobby game? Even professionally made games sell for 1$ on the app store and you're here telling me this is a hobby?
because it are no complains, its realism. people like you and some devs like to stay in this magic bubble of nothingness this is what i can not understand. mcjati does make a valid question and he is even licensed. would be rude to not answer the question properly
I overall don't understand what you are discussing. There is "about" page stating "We aim to recreate the thrill and fun of motorsport, by simulating all aspects of racing."
As you can see, there is no deadline, or anything like that, they are simply working as much as they want to make serious car simulator.
All your projections about what should have been already done, or what would be better, etc.. is up to some point healthy feedback for developers, and I'm sure Scawen is somewhat listening to those, and adjusting where appropriate and possible; but once you get over some reasonable level, and you actually write things sounding like you demand something, or that you are going to archive LFS, you are sort of funny. Go ahead, do what you want, you are all free people. There are also many other PC sims, so you can play whatever you wish.
But AFAIK you can currently buy S1, S2 or S3 license (each extra level for extra 12 pounds), and what you receive is what you can download right now from lfs.net. If you don't like that deal, don't buy. It's not rocket science.
And there's high chance of graphics update to happen within next 12 months (as like half of the work is already done, or more).
Oh, and yes, VWS was promised and was not delivered. If you bough the S1 license only because of VWS announced, maybe you are sort of entitled to demand refund, but I'm pretty sure this does not apply to 95+% of LFS license owners, it was simply development f*ck up, and the car may emerge slightly later than expected, like 10-15 years. Shit happens (especially in SW development).
those two words don't go together in the same sentence mate.
go ahead and tell your boss you'll work seriously only when you want.
guarantee you'll keep your job long enough.
even if scawen only works for himself, there is a thing called work ethic.
where is the professionalism in delaying something for 10 years?
at least release something to demand an apology.
people wanted something but theyre never gonna get it.
the stubborn devs will never admit to a mistake of their own.
from 2007 til 2015 there was zero new content.
LOL and it just gets worse from there.
how can you seriously release a font report update after 1 month of wait.
what's really sad is that scawen doesn't do it on purpose.
maybe that's just the way he is.
it was on the right track but its all over now.
just like everyone here, i expected to see a new track.
way to let down the fanboys who have a hardon about this game.
i cant stay in that state forever
the last serious update was 0.5Z25. thats it.
scawen told us a nice joke when he told me it took weeks to fix text.
hahaha, i swear he isn't even lying about it.
bitch please, fortnite and pubg didnt take 3 weeks to make.
anyway, making a game in 3 weeks is better development than working on fonts for the same time.
call me a troll all you want, but you need to get a grip on reality
Then why don't you make a proper racing sim? I mean, you're seem to be quite an expert,so you can do it in 3 weeks with 15min coffe breaks every hour in 8 hour day. And then sell it for 1$ on Steam. I bet you'll earn few millions in your reality.
And now our #1 contender for LFS troll of the year 2018 is jealous of everyone that doesn't need artificial chemicals to get a hard-on. Your profile picture alone is enough to spoil what kind of frustrated person you might be.
Go make your professional grade simulator for 1$ and come back later please because it seems you undoubtedly need an improved perspective. If you do not like the state of affair, you are welcome to check back in a year or two but it seems every post you make are filled with hate and anger.
Constructive criticism is good, trolling like you're doing is just cancerous for this community.
indeed, even if it has been slow and if it could have been fullfilled with plenty of other cars and tracks like the initial years of development might have let supposed, it is crazy to act like bitches now ! When obviously things seems to be brilliant at the least for the future !
Scawen has spent a few weeks on kerning ? Eric has not finished the track he is working on ?
... that's life. There is no promises on what they must do for LFS, but in the end they want to do things better, it is all that matters. How many other simulators with serious flaws are having the development team explaining you that everything is perfect, so they begin another project keeping the previous one unfinished ?
Clearly Scavier rock, and I hope they can release this graphic update as long with the magical tire physics update that will allow them to implement new contents (what you can be sure the team is waiting for a longtime now (VWS, mythical rallypack, and things they never spoiled etc etc ...)
every year the claim is that the future will be brilliant, its going on for almost ten years now and the only direction is south on the graphs. since when is fonts and shadows slash lights a major dealmaker or breaker in a game. its gameplay what counts. year after year there is talk about new tire physics but its empty talk. no tire physics no brilliant future. or... you have to say ok lets ditch this whole tire physics thing and focus on other parts which matters for racing. but this is also not going to be the case, the focus is on how green the grass looks.. and this greener grass takes more ten a full year to develop.
i do not need to develop anything, i am just answering the topic question, future is not going to brilliant, it never was going to be since december 2008.
Yes, you are absolutely correct: Scawen has spent the last 10 years doing nothing but playing with grass colour. It's a good thing you're here to help, but are you sure that the world of research can spare your insight? Shouldn't you be using your genius to cure cancer or fuse atoms or something?
Oh "benjamin" <3 I feel your pain, but....aren't you repeating the same cry we have read here hundreds of times during last 7-8 years? Is it worth? The amount of bitterness you are carrying, doesn't sound healthy. Please, stop waiting, go, get a life. Do something else. Now you sound like a victim who lost his money, house and family.
I understand, once upon a time three guys made you happy for many years, with a ridiculous low cost. You were successful and respected racer in LFS community. Your life was running high, because those guys created a context where you can shine. But this all doesn't mean they are responsible of your happiness until end of your life. Time to grow up. Good luck!
no, this year, other years it was about fences and some other non tire physics related stuff. furthermore this topic is not about The_Great but about the question where LFS is going. if you want to know where The_Great is going feel free to open a topic in section off topic.
Meanwhile the simracing game that took almost all of LFS fanbase and customers updates his game with something never seen before (done in such detailed way), LFS updates their fonts?
