Another information which should accessible through insim are the ping times
of players.
There is a great problem with "laggers" on public servers and this would help
to inform them about their problem as well as take appropriate actions.

I'm all for this, perhaps as a separate packet that you request, so the current packets aren't broken? Or are thinking as a modification to an existing packet?
+1 either implementation, having a server insim app that boots poor pingers and explains why would be a good thing.
I was thinking of an extension for the mci packets.
So it is up to u how often to request this information.
