Funny. I have a 6600GT and it works fine with LFS.
I must have been scammed and they sold me a Voodoo 3 as a 6600GT or something and no, i'm not serious
Applying a premade theme isn't hard. Try building one from scratch. If you want real fun, make your own. Link, I made that to match a webby I made last year (I also learnt that I had to make the webby wider so the forum could be wider). Now that was fun. You should try it.
I've asked someone this before I'm sure, but what does "[sic]" mean? O_o
What do you want rated? Sorry but you've done nothing except hit a few buttons. This guy did the style:
They made the forum software.
They host it all.
So technically what are you wanting rated that is yours?
Exactly my point. No respect for Tristan shown there at all, if it was your £24 you'd be trying to sort the problem and get the most out of LFS but because it's not your money you couldn't give a toss.
Do the respectful thing and give Tristan that account he already has expressed an interest in finding a way to get the voucher code back. I'm sure he can find a demo user who will actually use LFS and not ditch it because he has found another game.
Funnily enough, my three year old neice has exactly the same kind of selective hearing where she ignores anything she doesn't want to hear, such as being told it's bed-time. Maybe that's the kind of mentality we're dealing with here.
@ psychoman: "sic" is used to signify that reproduced text is being displayed "as is", i.e. with any errors or omissions. Wikipedia tells me it's derived from Latin.
Faster, do you want the S2 licence? If not, I would very much like to have it back somehow if that is possible. Then, if you return to LFS again in the future I'll sort you out again. But you're being totally grateful with it yet...
I'll give you a few days to think about it, but there are people out there who really want a licence...
I use PunBB for forums now, its powerful and *touch wood* doesn't seem to fall victim of spam accounts and it's blindingly fast. After years of phpBB2 and being hacked and getting endless spambot accounts, punBB is a refreshing change, I would highly recommend ditching phpBB2 now as it will only lead to pain.
The trouble with alternatives is that they soon become popular is people pass the word on, I've been using Cutenews on my webby for years, and upto Januaryish it was fine, after that point I'm constantly cleaning up spam posts, which link to a range of sites, from piracy to viagra :/
His problem is he ignores the help given. Faster claims it's a problem with LFS when it's clearly a problem (well from the info he has given) that it's his graphics card. He also claims it will be fixed in the next LFS patch, so basically waiting till his gfx card is out of warranty His latest statement was that his graphics card is too new ...
I was responding to Faster111's quote of:
So if he isn't going to listen about his graphics card then he should just give Tristan the account back so when Tristan is feeling generous again he doesn't have to fork out another £24.
PunBB has an excellent support forum, but basically
1) How did you transfer over the other one? You create an SQL database, and upload the files, voila.
2) You open it with a web browser, provided your server has php it will work
3) It has the same basic requirements as phpBB2, the same basic installation (except it works, which is why I moved to PunBB after I couldnt install phpBB2 to a secondary parked domain) and it's smaller (therefor faster and more reliable to install).
Yup, the best protection is proprietry. I was tempted to do my own forum software a while back, ultimately spam bots and two hackers doing site tags killed my old forums. When I set up the STCC I did think about writing my own forum software and perhaps interfacing it with some race management stuff - but it seemed like a lot of work for 24 drivers, so I wrote LFSC instead.
There seems to be no easy solution to spam, except shotguns and baseball bats.
