After almost 3 years break XFR returned for racing in the RTFR XL and it returned in same environment as it was used before - in Aston. Race had a distinctive leader in person of the combo's world record holder,but he could not stretch his lead to reach in top10 of biggest margins of victory. And lack of full race distance practice caused quite many tyre failures mixing up the possible results once more.
Fast did not left anything over for his competition yesterday - he was more than a second faster than rest in qualifying,also his fastest lap in race had over 1 second advantage,while after 29 laps he had 40 seconds lead - 3rd win,4th pole position,6th fastest lap of the race and 6th top5 finish for the lithuanian. Best of the rest was his teammate R.Kardol,who also had clear gap over rivals of over 20 seconds - 14th top5 finish for him and he is now sole 2nd best in the top5 chart. It was 2nd start for Falcon,but just 1st finish - 3rd position for him yesterday,4th was winner's countryman Simox,who scored his 6th top5 finish. Maciek makes RGA as 2nd team to have 2 drivers in top5 with his 5th place finish - 3rd visit in top5 for him.
* FUN FACT OF THE MONTH :
In the event with scheduled race time of 75 minutes,lap count is usually rather high - this was the 2nd lowest lapcount for a RTFR XL race - 27. Even lower lapcount had XFG race at Fern Bay Historic with 23 laps distance. Yesterday's race was 3rd race with lapcount under 30 laps,both previous were picked by same person - Sermilan.
* CLOCK PITTER OF THE RACE :
After a while Kid returned in RTFR XL racing - he celebrated it with race's shortest legal work free pitstop of 10.44 seconds. However he might regret it as he blow both front tyres at the end of the race and finished one lap behind because of that.
* FIELD RUSHER OF THE RACE :
Michal passed more than half of the field between start and finish - he qualified in low 16th position,but gained a total of 9 positions to finish 7th.
* HONORABLE MENTION :
...goes to the only driver finishing full race distance on same set of tyres he started with - Falcon. Judging by graphics he might even had survived few laps more if needed.
Again 4 weeks break until next RTFR XL - the winner has already submitted combo for the 40th RTFR XL and it will be the 1st custom track for almost a year - Fern Bay Island (Fern Bay Gold with an extension over part where FE2R has it's famous 1st chicane). Car used for this track will be XRG - as always in case of custom track in the week after next normal RTFR server will be set up with this combo for laptime testing. Next tuesday street legal cars will be featured in next RTFR,more details in the weekend. Next week Race Green Events will host a very different endurance race - 300km of Westhill.
