Also, sorry for double post.. But:

He looks excited. lol

Edit:

I heard Carlin had entered an entry to join F1, anyone else heard this?

I was planning to go to watch the BTCC at Donington the other week, but couldn't make it. Looked like a good weekend Dan, was the general hospitality and atmosphere any good?

F1 2008.
Looks like the race had a good amount of action, and nice pictures btw.

Yes, it was, the RAC "tent" was very hospitably, giving away plenty of freebies, loads of scantily clad females, and having a slanging match with the Halfords tent (all in good fun), they actually gave away some Tom-Toms to the crowd too illepall

It is a good day out, the BTCC fans are very vocal, and get behind there driver/team, all in all I would recommend it.

Dan,
Nice shots!

I'll agree with what someone posted. Get those shutter speeds down so we can get a better sense of speed in the shots with blurred wheels and backgounds

Try shooting around F8 or F11 shutter aperture and about 1/125th of a second and just turn your waist with the car as it passes. Takes some practice but looks great in the end! Shouldn't need the ISO so high, just up your shutter speed instead. High ISO = high noise in the pics.

Well done though! Love the redbull and the formula nuts lol

That'll teach Pinkney for not having a wind down window
Great shots Dan.

Quote from mrfell :Plato treads a VERY fine line between racing hard and wrecking, but obviously this time he got away with it.

Agreed.

Quote from danowat :Yup, I always feel that those two, Plato and Thompson, feel they are a cut above everyone else, and drive like it too, mind you the Seat's are very quick.

Really? You think they're equally dirty? I would much rather be two-wide through a corner with Thompson than Plato.

Quote from ajp71 :Watching it on TV it was very poor racing, still got this banger racing style attitude which is tolerated because it's good for TV...

Absolutely. It's a real shame, and touring car racing doesn't have to be like that. I assume that a much more aggressive clerk of the course is what's needed, but I don't know how this degree of tolerated wrecking has crept into BTCC culture. Guesses, anyone? AJP's "it's good for the TV ratings" theory seems plausible.
Great pics, what Cam/Lens are you using?

I'll be at Brands Hatch for the GT's and for the BTCC qualifying in September! looking forward to it! BTCC is always entertaining!
Quote from Robster230 :Great pics, what Cam/Lens are you using?

Canon 350D body with a Canon 75-300 MkIII USM lens.

Dan,

Dan,

Good stuff! I use a 350D too! great piece of kit

I'll be at the GTRs on the 27th at Brands and probably BTCC Qualifying too
Awsome shots Dan
What's the maximum aperature on that lens? With my Nikon 300mm F/4.5 lens I can't stop action, it must be a very large lens, what did it cost??

<edit> I see you were using ISO 800, that explains everything.....</edit>
