The online racing simulator
CTD when going in and out of mutiplayer
I am getting a "crash-to-desktop"

Explanation:
I have not followed the test patches really, but the 3 I have are U11, U17 and U20. All have this ctd. I am running Windows Media Center 2005 rollup 2 with all update and patches

The steps I take that produces this CTD are:
Load up LFS
Go to mutiplayer
Does not matter weather the windows option in the mutiplayer menu is yes or no
click display list of games
wait for the servers to finish loading or even stopping it still produces this
click back
and click back again
and bang I have a CTD, happens often but not all the time.

No my computer is not overclocked nor in a SLI format

Are you using some extremely large custom menu background, or a certain jpg that is not ok?
I remember this weird bug that a few racers had on my website, which was caused by IE6 destroying the cache files when using a gif created by Picture Publisher 8...

I tried your description a couple of times now, and can't reproduce that...
Are you clicking very fast or is there anything else that could matter?
I am using the fernbay planet as a background by DoN or whoever.

I can click fast, slow, normal speed, slightly quicker then normal speed and the same thing happens.

Edit: Tryed with a windows background and with another custom background and it still crashes.
I'm having the same problem.

Just installed U23 and crashes everytime when connecting to a server.
The screen goes black but I can hear whats going on.

Only task manager lets me shut down LFS.
The daft thing is that when I restart LFS, it connects to the same server with no problems!!

I have the server browser in Window mode whilst connecting.

Andrew

EDIT

Just forced LFS NOT to go into windowed mode whilst connecting to a server and all seems OK.
I would like to be happy that someone else has the same problem as me

But I cannot

1. Because you have sorted the issue you are having
2. Your problem is diffrent to my problem.

Am I the only one with this problem? Could it be Windows Media Center thats doing it?
Found the issue:

When Live For Speed closes the connection when its searched for the list of rooms, my Firewall does not like it and crashes the game for me. So i'll put this one down to a firewall issue rather then a LFS bug.
