suggestion: One single topic for "name&shame"
Now when this cheating thing is 'the' hot topic, I suggest why not to establish a single topic for that, instead of making a new "***** cheated on *****-server" every day? One moderator would then moderate this topic and keep it clean from offtopic discussion.

Good or bad idea?

bad idea. they don't want name and shame threads on the forum... hmm or name and shame period. I guess I should add, some see this as a badge of fame and it'll only encourage them.

Bad idea for me too. Take a look at the words of the LFS fairy
bad idea. this thread should be closed before it turns into a flaming arena. (oooh... flaming *crazed look in eyes*)
Yes, bad idea.

I also think, many people only cheat/wreck, because they WANT this public mentioning. illepall
id rarther be known for being a crap racer than for being an idiot.
I have a much better idea. We should have a "Cheater report box" on the forum, where you upload the replay, and it get's sent to the devs? This way it wouldn't be all viewable.
Thats, what the wrecker barricade is for. If people would actually use it for that, the cheaters wouldnt be able to join many servers anymore.

And I doubt, the devs want to be spammed full with replays of people using the cheat. I guess, they are already working hard to solve this.
Ok, my expectations towards this were very open. I know that name&shame doesn't do any good for the community, or it's problems.

Well, now the replays are spreaded everywhere in the forums in numbers of topics. I just wanted to ask opinions about this, because there is a new topic made about the cheat(ers) every day. It would've helped to keep this forum cleaner.

But.. Over and out!
Shaming? Cheaters would just be proud of the attention.
I'd like to name and shame that "tinyk" for being to friendly and welcoming and popular and nice and too pink :shhh: princess :bunny3:

:couple:
LOL Name & Shame would be effective, only the need to make it a true
NAME & SHAME. Where the wrecker/ cheater has all their information
published... like real name address & Phone number used.

Of course that idea is totally absurd, but wouldn't it be sort a cool in a
nasty little way to be able to prank call some one that parked their car at a critical point or send 150 large pepperoni pizzas, two electricians
and the local "overly religious types" or an escort service to the house of the person that used some sort a cheat?

lol most are kids... call their school they attend and say you found a notebook with all these violent images in it and it had this school's name and the name of the student(that little *@!! wrecker) with other names marked out in it....

Now if you named & shamed like THAT....

I think that the wrecker barricade info should be public (if possible along with the IP adress to make it easy to IP ban them if they buy a new licence) and automatically generated bans.ban files.

Just my view
Some seemingly OT food for thought from the Wikipedia:

Herostratus was a young man who set fire to the Temple of Artemis in Ephesus (currently in the territory of Turkey) in his quest for fame on July 21, 356 BC.
[...]
Far from attempting to evade responsibility for this act of arson, Herostratus proudly claimed credit in order to secure his place in history. In order to dissuade similar-minded fame-seekers, the authorities, as well as executing Herostratus, decided to condemn him to a legacy of obscurity by forbidding mention of his name under the penalty of death. This harsh stipulation apparently did not preclude Herostratus from achieving his goal. The name of Herostratus has lived on in classic literature, and evolved into modern languages. In German, for example, "Herostrat" is an individual in constant pursuit of fame. The English term Herostratic fame, likewise, relates to Herostratus.
