Back to default LFS racing using simulator's fastest FWD car XFR,the low powered NGT class vehicle. With it's specific handling,it's not really a popular car in LFS,hence the medium size attendance - with 29 cars standing on grid,this race is just below the average attendance of past 12 months,while it was a good improvement besides car's previous best result of 20 drivers.
Even if it was 2nd win in row for lately rather dominating driver in RGE leagues V.Laguckas,it was anything else than dominating day for him - he started from 3rd position and only an incident involving 2 leaders ahead put him into race lead,which he held until end of the race,with exception of short pitstop shuffle. V.Laguckas scored his 3rd RTFR XL racewin,becoming 10th driver to score back to back wins,he also added 4th fastest lap of the race and 7th top5 finish to his stats. Leo joined RTFR XL for the 2nd time and after being disqualified in the shortcut-gate race,this time no trouble and the argentinian could score best finishing position not only for himself,but also his country - 2nd. R.Kardol started from front row,but could not recover the pace after early incident - 3rd place finish is his 28th top5 finish. Unite could lead 5 laps in very late stage of the race before pitting on his last chance,finished 4th and scored his 14th top5 finish. Top5 was closed by Arska,who scored his 6th top5 finish in RTFR XL.
* FUN FACT OF THE MONTH :
This was the 3rd race in row with 43 or 44 laps race distance - next race might be very similar as it seems to be a trend of combos being selected with laptimes around 1:44-1:48
* CLOCK PITTER OF THE RACE :
After serveral failed tries Unite finally set the shortest legal pitstop time without work - 10.11 seconds. Funny part is that he had no competition in this race as everyone else had some pitwork.
* FIELD RUSHER OF THE RACE :
Climbs is the one who gained most positions in this race - starting 18th and finishing 7th resulted a gain of 11 positions between start and finish.
Seems like now every 2nd race will be using mods (ruling does not allow following races yet),so for the next race mods are open to be selected - the race winner selected one of the GTR cars,the relativelly lightweight
MRG V8 GTR,a car that resembles Morgan Plus V8 from the very early 90ies. With 420 horspower and 940kg weight it's sort of on par with our well known LFS GTR class regarding power to weight ratio,let's see how the car will perform on Aston North reversed - testing will be opened after next normal RTFR race to find out laptime for distance calculation. Regarding next RTFR - it will be a fast race with slow car,more details will be posted on the weekend.
