Hi,
With the car mod release, I think LFS reached an incredible level and I feel that the community is alive again.
I always loved the physics of this simulator, but now we have also the opportunity to drive also our real cars in this game.
I know that devs are working on the restyling of South City, Aston, Fern Bay and the Autocross layot.
But
What if it will possible to drive on real streets, using the Google Maps info?
But also openstreetmap, why not.
This would be a game changer, for example creating point to point races, ideal for rally/touge racing.
Imagine driving in LFS in your local touge.
In 2010, Skive did something similiar with a really cool 3d browser game:
https://www.droidgamers.com/2010/09/16/hometown-gp-a-3d-real-world-browser-game/
Now the game is no more available, but, the article describes how it was possible to play on your hometown streets.
Also the altitude and the difference in height were respected.
What do you think about?
Edit:
This video explains better
