I was wondering...since I don't have much money to buy a wheel that has a gear shifter,can I use a wheel+ joystick combo at the same time?

im pretty sure there is software out there that can program your joystick to be a shifter, but it would be more fun to build a stick(custom ) and have the software run it.

I heard of really good results using a force feedback joystick, a custom H-gate, and a little utility called FFShifter. While looking for that link over at RSC I found another for something similar called Virtual H-Shifter which doesn't use force feedback I think. Good luck.

hi i have just made a gear shifter out of an old joystick but when i go to change down sometimes it will change down 2 gears going up is fine but its just downshifting is there anything i can do to stop this?

I scraped my old shifter becasue it was to cheap and i couldnt get it setup right so i brought a sidewinder joystick off ebay for 1p. Is there anyone who has ever made a sidewinder joystick into a shifter before?
