I live in Derby which is only 10 miles away or so, I was thinking more of meeting some other LFS players, which I'm sure we can arrange.

yeah, why not! My mate sidepants is going as well, plus a third non LFS person, but we wont speak to him. He is a sim racer, but he prefers GTR illepall

Almost off topic question: is TC allowed in Le Mans series? Probably only in LMP1/2 class cars?

In FIA GT it is allowed on GT cars if the road car has it. I dunno about LMPs tho.

It turned out to be a great day out, with some serious machinery on show. Everything from Pescarolos which sounded like an angry hornets nest to Saleens which sounded more like the devil banging some kettle drums. £20 for all day anywhere in the infield was damn good value for money too.

I watched it live on motors TV,

The best moment was probably watching one of the aston mechanics (the french ones) cocking it up badly in the pits by using a shitty pair of grips to puch a caliper-piston back in and popping the others out! bloody idiot cost them the race. shame to see the Radicals retire, the works car early on, and the Roll-center boys going strong (winning LMP2) until 15 minutes from the end when they retired with starter motor faliure in the pits.

6 hours of solid motorsport entertainment!

Went on Saturday to the qualifying. Great day. Met my mate who lives in Surrey i've been talking to on MSN for about 2 years now. Easily one of the greatest days in a long time.
Saw a few crashes. Corvette spun out, then another and got stuck in the sand trap, Engine problems for a classic Porsche and a chevron race car, Radical spun out into the gravel, then in the first Radical race, one spun out right in front of us and went into the gravel, one had smoke pouring out the back and one actually set on fire, and the biggest crash of the day happened in the distance but we sw it well. A Le Mans car (couldn't see. I think it was either a Corvette, Saleen or Porsche) spun off the track, did several spins then crashed into the wall.
