FIA Dual Standards
There is an FIA Investigation into why a person associated with a political party awarded a trophy at the Turkish Grand Prix.

If this is not permitted then is Mr Ecclestone not familiar with what Tony Blair does for a living?

The problem is that the guy was announced and captioned as the President of the Turkish Cypriot State.

Turkey is the only country that recognises this state, and the Greek Cypriots have made a complaint as it is the government of the Greek area that is internationally recognised.
He's the leader of an illegal occupation. Turkey should get their butts out of Cyprus.

And theoretically Her Majesty should be awarding the 1st place trophy in the British GP, but she has better things to do.

you voted for her?
British democaracy is actually ruled by a head of state that is supposedly chosen (or at least given the OK by the Christian God). Yup, what a model of democracy we set for the world, go us!
General racing talk or political debate? Maybe move to off-topic area.
Kinda racing related. Ish.

You would have thought that Mr Ecclestones Braodcasting company might of fact checked better. Apparently he uses local crews for each race so if it was a turkish production company then I'm not surprised they did that.
Actually the TV coverage at the Turkish race was covered by Mr Ecclestones own F.O.M. group, so I dont think that was the problem

Like watching the race I heard/read somewhere that she quite enjoys F1.
Here's my post on 10/10.

Quote from Myself on Ten Tenths :

In my view due to having the leader of an illegal occupation presenting a trophy, the following ought to happen.
  1. Turkish GP suspended for 2007, with a race in Suzuka to keep the number of races.
  2. FIA to suspend the membership of the Turkish ASN and to not recognise Turkish racing licences until spring 2008, and encourage other racing championships to follow suit.
Yeah, it's heavy handed but something needs to be done. If I was Greek, I would be calling for even tougher sanctions (both of those for good).
