RTFR and RTFR XL 2023 main info - WCL sponsorship and Sim Broadcasts livestream

Hello,racers!

The year 2023 has already started and now in slight short term fashion here's the main information of the year. Why such short term? Simply because not much has changed - only some numbers, the racing still is going on and best racers will receive some monetary awards for their efforts, kindly sponsored by World Class Lions. Full details can be found in Sponsorship document.

For season standings the same points system will be used as in the evergoing rating system - for full details hower mousepointer over rating sheet's green colored title bar, here are the links to both spreadsheets: RTFR and RTFR XL.

What stays same and what changes:

* RTFR is again split in 2 seasons - same as last year. The change is amount of races allocated to seasons - 2023 season 1 will consist of 12 races, starting from the 1st RTFR of the year, held on 3rd january. 6th june will mark the end of season 1 as the 12th round of it. Then we go back to casual racing - for 3 rounds RTFR will return to old times, where the racing was done simply for fun and winners glory,no standings,no awards. The 2023 season 2 starts on 1st august and will be just 10 rounds long to finish on 5th december - the 19th december RTFR will be just a simple year end race, which probably might end up as something different in terms of car/track combo while keeping the standard format.

* Practically no changes in RTFR XL - all 12 races of the year are a part of 2023 standings and just like last year only 10 best scores will count towards those (fun fact from last year - just 3 scores were not counted into standings as they were not between best 10 of the respective scorer). As always RTFR XL is set to have a race each month, meaning there cannot be 2 races in same month. This usually leads to a 6 weeks gap between races at end of year - this year this big gap will be between october and november races.

* Points system stays the same - each event has it's own system, both however are very similar. RTFR keeps the base of 20 points for winner based on 20 (or less) starters, where each 3 starters more than 20 adds 1 point to winner's gain. RTFR XL has own attendance based base score increasement, which last year reached the same 20 points for winner - if 5 races in row have more or less attendees than current base score,it get's increased or decreased by 1. Not affecting the yearly standings which leads to money prizes is the ever going rating, which until this year used to be 10 race rating for both event versions - this will be changed slightly. RTFR will have 15 race rating, slowly expanding from 1st race of the year, where oldest 5 scores will count only half as much, but in RTFR XL it will turn into 12 races rating, where also oldest 1/3 will count only half.

* User created cars will be also a feature in RTFR and RTFR XL - there will be a slight increase in mods usage frequency in RTFR (used to be every 3rd race in standings scored races),which means the frequency will shuffle between every 2nd and 3rd race, occasionally having back to back races. Couple of most popular cars from last year might have a return in schedule this year. RTFR XL however will keep mods ban for selection in race after mods race, which basically means mods cannot be used 2 races in row. A spreadsheet "RGE approved mods" has been created to keep track of cars that can be used in our events, however the unused (new) mods tracking was given up at some point as it was increasingly difficult to follow them. In case RTFR XL winner wants to select and is not sure to which car class it belongs, simply ask for feedback.

Both events have been entered into lfs.net racing calendar, where the combos will be updated as soon as possible - the currently set "XFG at BL1" is simply a placeholder. Info about each event will be posted in this forum subsection as it was always done previously in the information threads.

For past 2 years RTFR and RTFR XL were honored by having a great promotion through livestream by the best broadcasting company around LFS - Sim Broadcasts. With sponsors support, the broadcasting will continue also for 2023,giving a great chance for people not in race to follow the action live and to racers in the race - relive the action from the spectators view. SB.tv will broadcast by availability all races that are part of standings, taking a break in summer when the 3 non-championship races will be held.

Additionally you can visit SimBroadcasts.tv for their full streaming schedule and contact,or their lfs.net forum thread for local updates.

2023 Season 1 RTFR final standings

This is already the 5th year of RTFR,where a specific standings are made, and the 2nd one where the year has been divided into 2 seasons. After 12 races the first of those is completed,so we're ready for a season recap. Even if compared to previous 2 years the attendance has sunk a little, still the most races had 30 or more cars on grid, averaging overall attendance at almost 33 drivers per round. Total count of participants through all 12 rounds was just 1 shy off 100. 6 different drivers managed to win at least one race, all of them finished in top9 of the standings.

RTFR 2023 Season 1 standings winner: S1DUS*GáboR
The hungarian made it 2 in row - the defending standings champion of 2022 S2 won also the next scored season and that without attending last round as the 1st position was practically secured. Gábor won a total of 4 races (twice as much as all 3 second most successful drivers),finished 2nd twice and 4th 3 times, taking also 1 pole position and 2 fastest laps of the race. The previous season also brought him 9 top5 finishes (despite being 2 rounds shorter),but his win count was just half as big.

Also the 2nd place owner did not attend last round of this season and still kept his position as it was almost practically secured. R.Kardol spent most of the season in chasing position - he finished in second position 5 times, another 2 races were completed in 3rd position, bringing home just a single race win - 4 times less than in previous season. The fastest driver this season was V.Lakūnas, who finished 3rd in standings only in last round overtaking previous 3rd place owner. He's fastest only because he scored pole position in more than half of season rounds (7 of 12) and also set most fastest laps of the race - 3. However he could convert the pace in only 2 race wins and 5 other podium finishes. The 2022 S1 standings winner did not attend a single round in previous season.

The list of race winners also inclue 4th place in standings A.Valta, who won 2 races, but did not attend last 3 rounds, effectivelly giving up the chance to finish 1st in standings. Fatal is another 2-time race winner this season,he however did not finish in top5 in any other round and finished 6th in standings. The lowest finisher in standings with a race win in baggage is Mantas, who won 11th race of the season, finishing 9th in standings.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Next 3 races count as off-season races as they will not score points to any specific standings besides the ever going 15-race rating. This gives the organisation the chance to go a little more experimental,so expect less standard combos as we have plenty of mods to try. However the RTFR XL scored season does not have any intermissions,so already on coming tuesday round 6 will be carried out in the tough Fern Bay - drivers however can take a "break" from this enduring series as only 10 best scores from 12 possible count.

Mid year Greetings from RGA's RTFR events sponsor

The 1st RTFR season of year 2023 is now completed and final standings announced. Info of prize winners and how to get the prize will be shared within this post.

We have witnessed the popularity of this league has remained high with some races having full or almost full starting grid. This means the concept works with simple and solid organisation of races by RGA and high quality streaming with commentators by Sim broadcasts team, not to forget the drivers competing in the league. Big thank you once again to be part of success of the RTFR 2023 season 1.

The season 1 of year 2023 has followed the same concept introduced last year difference being 12 races instead of 10 and slight increase of mods usage in the races. Mostly the mod selected to race has increased the participation compared to regular lfs cars and the racing has been good. Couple of bad choices happend though but that is the risk with mods we need to live with.

Now when season 1 of year 2023 is closed the prize money will be shared for racers who reached them.

Once again on behalf of team WCL we thank all the racers taking part on the RTFR Season 1 of year 2023, very enjoyable season with lot of close racing, team RGA as organizing body and Sim broadcasts team for their effort to broadcast the races helping to keep the RTFR one of the most popular leagues in live for speed.

2023 Season 2 RTFR final standings

Also the 2nd scored season of 2023 in RTFR has been completed with last race being run this week - however there was no intrigue for win in the standings as it was practically decided with 2 races to go. Attendance has sunk a little compared to previous season - 27 drivers per round on average were attending RTFR races on season 2,which is 5 less then on season 1,but with lowest count of 24 drivers it's still well above all time RTFR average. A total of 67 drivers put themselves on season 2 table by scoring at least a point,20 of them finished at least 1 race in top5,however the race winners count was very low - just 3.

RTFR 2023 Season 2 standings winner: S1DUS*GáboR
The standings winner was the reason why race winner count was so low - he privatised the bragging rights for himself by winning 8 of 10 races, finishing 2nd in one of remaining 2 and retiring from the other one, which he started from front row and also proved his pace by scoring fastest lap before retirement. The hungarian set fastest lap in both sessions very often - he was fastest in qualifying 7 times, scored the fastest lap 9 times, one of those sharing with other driver.

Also the 2nd place owner repeated season 1 performance by being the runner up of standings - R.Kardol is one of 2 other race winners as he won the race where champion retired, which was done by starting from his only pole position of this season. The dutchman finished 2nd three times and scored another 2 top5 finishes. The last step of standings podium was taken by Arska, who had his best ever scored standings result - previous best was 5th in 2022 S1. The finn finished 3rd twice, including in the deciding 10th race of the season, which promoted him to the final position by overtaking his teammate, and scored another top5 finish to make it 3 in total.

In the list of other notable racers first to mention is the B2R driver with single letter in his name - M. He won the 315th RTFR being the only driver to finish ahead of standings champion, finished 2nd three times in total, being also 2nd best polesitter with 2 pole positions. Zesty however excelled by being the 3rd driver who managed to score fastest lap of the race - he tied racewinner Gábor in 316th RTFR. Another driver worth to mention is A.Valta, who finished 2nd in both of his only 2 attendances in this season.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

The RTFR XL season is about to end on next tuesday - also there the intrigue for top2 positions is over as both are secured, however last step on the overall podium is still open, the tricky XFR will be the decision maker in Fern Bay. Normal RTFR will have another off-season race this year on 19th december, stay tuned for information on that!

2023 RTFR XL final standings

The 7th year of RTFR XL has been finished, latest 5 had an yearly standings due WCL sponsorship,so we have a new,but in same time also returning champion. The average attendance of 26.25 is still higher than all time average, however it's also a decrease by 1 compared to previous year. This year brought just a single new race winner, which is lowest number ever, meaning regular racers have settled in to take most of the glory. There were a total 6 different race winners through the 12 races, interestingly only 2 of them are in final standings top10. 29 drivers were able to break in between top5 finishers in at least one race from a total 79 participants - 3 of them scored points only from qualifying and did not finish a single race. The highest attendance of 35 was achieved in 82nd RTFR XL,which was run with Prototype 2 in Kyoto, ironically 2 days after a 8 hours race which also featured same car (longest every RTFR XL practice session?),however the season finale with XFR in Fern Bay attracted just 16 drivers, resulting in the lowest attendance of last 3 years.

RTFR XL 2023 standings winner: S1DUS*R.Kardol
R.Kardol was the winningest driver last year with 3 wins, however finished only 2nd in standings - this was turned around this year as the dutchman won "just" 2 races, but returned to the top of the table, repeating his 2021 achievement. The 2nd 2-time RTFR XL standings winner besides these 2 race wins scored also 6 second place finishes (5 of them in the first half of the year),3 other top5 finishes,3 pole positions and 3 fastest laps of the race.

The champion of 3 latest normal RTFR seasons Gábor finished 2nd in 2023 RTFR XL standings - he did score most wins, pole positions and fastest laps (5; 4 and 5 accordingly) in this season, finishing once in both other podium positions, however did not attend in 4 rounds and did not finish in other one, resulting him in 2nd position in season final standings. It's still an improvement by 4 positions compared to his previous best RTFR XL season standings - 2 years ago he finished 6th. The 3rd place of the very first season standings repeated the same result also this year - the event organizer has finished in top4 in every single season as in most cases he's the only one to attend all rounds, this season topping his performance with a single top5 finish.

The 4 other drivers, which were visiting the RTFR XL victory lane are True Alpha, who won 2 races in row and single race winners M,Excellent15 and A.Valta - M was highest in standings with 12th position as all others did not finish more than 2 races. Doni made his name into notable list by being the only driver to finish more than once in 3rd position and Twincam, who was the only other driver besides standings winner to finish 5th more than once.

End of the year Sponsors geetings and prizes sharing for RTFRXL of year 2023
Pre-Xmas greetings from RGA's RTFR/RTFRXL events sponsor

Xmas is fast approaching and all RTFR sponsored events are completed for this year.

Now it is time to declare prize money winners of RTFRXL 2023 season.
The league has remained challenging with slight drop of attendees. This is then amplified with many quitting races before reaching finish line and final standings list squeezes quite short. Anyway the hard work and patient driving is again witnessed and the best of those are now getting the promised sponsorship prize money. For next year there is already plans how the hard work and finishing races would be more rewarding and maybe then helps not to quit a race too easily and gets more attendees trying to race in this demanding league.

On behalf of team WCL we thank again all the racers taking part on RTFRXL league, team RGA as organizing body and sim broadcasts team for their effort to broadcast the races througout the year helping to keep interest high in this endurance nuanced league.

The earned prize money for RTFRXL competitions 2023 follows the list below

1st place: 50€
2nd place: 30€
3rd place: 20€
4th place: 10€
5th place: 10€
6th place: 10€
7th place: 10€
8th place: 10€

RG^LORENZO (thegamer23) 10€

Congratulations to all prize winners !!

As announced the payment method is paypal unless the prize winner has not a paypal account and is unable to open one. If that is the case then some alternative payment method need to be agreed. This is then to be agreed via private messaging as all the prize winners will be contacted for getting paypal account information.
Target is to contact all RTFRXL prize winners before Xmas. Also those individuals who managed to achieve prize money from RTFR Season 2 will be added to RTFRXL earnings and deposited together.

What comes to continuation of sponsorship by Team WCL in future is under planning. It is already decided that RTFR races will be similarly sponsored by Team WCL by splitting the year in 2 seasons, RTFRXL league is under thinking how we could attrack more racers and get rewards also to those finishing races but not reaching top 10 positions.

Special thx again for broadcasting these interesting race events goes to sim broadcasts team who is doing very pro like job from race to race.
We want this to continue in the way it is now produced, therefore there will be sponsorship announced soon for year 2024. The details will be clarified still during this year and most probably announced in some level of sim broadcasts team pre-show for year 2024 before RTFR 2024 seasons start.

Cheerful Festive Season for all and let's hope year 2024 will bring us closer to the night driving and tracks update which LFS Team is saying to work with after 0.7E version is out Thumbs up
