Lap updating on webpage
Hi

I would be really greatful for some advice about this subject please.
I want to have a lapping registering system something like some leagues have, its something like this.
The server is set to a combo, and then the best lap achieved by a selected list of players is registered on a webpage, every time that one of this racers improves his time, the lap registered on the webpage is updated.

I believe that for starters the server must have insim relay, but i really dont know much more to achieve this, what do i need to do it

Thanks in advance guys
I am soon planning to develop a live timing system to LFS Companion, before 25th September, so that might be worth checking out when it is ready. You would need LFS Companion running with an insim connection to an active client or the server.
Becky, you do it for the Dedi server as well????? this would be REALY AWSOME
There's a live timing program on the SimFia website(http://www.SimFIA.com). It automatically records and updates the sector times and lap times of anyone connected to the server and then keeps your times posted for a certain amount of time after you disconnect. I had nothing to do with it, so i don't know how it was done..lol. I'm sure once Dygear sees this, he will post, as he is the one that programmed it. But you can always ask any questions in the forums on the site in my sig

As it stands LFSC should connect to a dedicated server, just setup the insim port in the same way as you would connecting it to LFS. However I do plan on producing a seperate .exe with just the live timing system in it and no GUI.
yep thats cool!

I guess you can't do it with dedi, you'll have to use Insim Relay. Or am I wrong?

Yep, dedicated servers have the full insim kit available all by themselves, which is what the relay connects to.

As far as I am aware the only data missing is the current selected player packets and camera info, understandably. LFSC wont be able to give radio messages unless it's been locked to a player, it wont do backfires or report fuel (outguage) but otherwise is fully compatable with the dedicated server, so it can be used both as an insim relay application and for stats. Most useful is stats, which is why i'll be producing a dedicated no GUI version for the live timing system. I might also make it store the full stats of the last dozen or so races too.
I made some script which works with LFS lapper ... So if you want to test it tell me and i will send it to you. You can see it working on http://lfs.simonm.net/ . I had only 2 errors on script till now ...
