The online racing simulator
does anyone else have this problem?
Gear question:

I'm running a rubbish Logitech Driving Force (not the pro) wheel, do any other drivers experience it or LFS "not letting you" change gears, for example, although the paddles seem to do everything normally, if the tyres are under high load it wont allow me to change gear when I pull on the paddle, only afterward when i've straightened up, or if I apply a seconds opposite lock... I've got all the driving aids turned off except auto clutch.

I understand I should already be in the right gear for the corner before entering it, but I'm not very good at LFS (yet), and one of the long sweeping fast turns after the aston straight in any of the cars that have both power and downforce grip require me to twitch the steering wheel left to change up a gear before resuming my right lock degree once more.

Does anyone else have experience of this "inability to shift during cornering"?

(I know it wouldn't be done much in a racing situation, except perhaps turn one, but I find it makes it very hard for me to correct mistakes).

Ok thanks very much, bloody annoying... I want to splash on a DFP but I'm saving for a 300zxTT... and I need all the cash I can lay my hands on, selling most of what I own!! I shall have to hope the G25 release puts an abundance of cheap DFP's on eBay!

My avatar is stolen from www.sniffpetrol.com, a hilarious online motoring magazine, each month they release a new one, they've been releasing a new caption from that picture ever since they found it!

Turn on auto clutch unless you have a clutch pedal or button. It won't change gear until the clutch is pulled or the revs match the gearbox.
thanks but auto clutch is enabled, with the blip and cut features turned off, it still does it even when I assign another axis on a joystick as the clutch... stupid wheel
Sorry to bump an old thread

I have the exact same problem, same wheel, the paddles work perfect when straight, but when its turned it sometimes dosn't shift. I used to think it was just a miss shift, like another realism that LFS had to offer ..lol..., but on the calibration screen I confirmed that the paddles where not responding when the wheel was turned in certain ways....inconsistent but still frequent.......I think the only solution involes opening the case and seeing if it can just be a loose wire or somthing fixable.....
I`ve had sort of the same problem for quite some time...not only during cornering...it would happen randomly...(using a msff wheel)but now, thats all sorted thanks to the U30 test patch..the patch has the debounce option in the game which helped me a lot.Maybe u could try and that?
i currently have to run min sleep at 5 and debounce 150 hehe but it seems to be working (for me)

Well I thank you for the possible solution, Ive just come back from trying that and no luck....also in the profiller its clear it's not functioning 85% when turned and works fine straight...

Is their anyone that knows the inner workings well, and can quess where I start?...I've strated digging my tools out..lol
EDITOk one problem solved another one created, installing the new LT driver only reset my pedals to combined, and with that setup it shifts perfect, but put it on separate, and its back to being craptacular again.....is it easy to re-wire the pedals so they are on thier own usb? would that help?

Ok problem solved (after i took the thing apart but oh wellillepall ) I noticed no problem with the pedals unpluged and the paddles used as gas brake axis'.....made me think it's clearly a driver problem, DL'd the newest driver from logitech for the g25, and it works perfect
